Melena Howe GEOMETRY TEACHER Do you have any tips or tricks for students to be successful in math?My suggestion for students to be successful in math, is to makesure you attend class, turn in all of your homework, dont letyourself fall behind, and attend office hours when confused. If astudent does those things they will be successful in my class. Forthat matter, if they do those things for all of their classes, they willprobably be successful in everything. Do you have a favorite math website for students?www.purplemath.com has a lot of great information. When are your office hours for math?My office hours are from 10:00-11:30 on Fridays. Do you offer math tutoring sessions? If so, when?I do not offer extra math tutoring sessions, but my office hourtime is a time when a lot of students come in to get extra help.

I always tell the students to focus on the, “why”, and not just the procedure. If the students can provide be a rationale for the problem, I know they understand the concept at hand.
