  2. 2. Nuclear Family <ul><li>Two adults, usually married, and their dependant family. </li></ul><ul><li>Traditional model of a western family </li></ul><ul><li>Husband, wife and 2.4 children </li></ul>
  3. 3. Extended family <ul><li>Three or more generations living together </li></ul><ul><li>e.g. grandparents, parents and children </li></ul><ul><li>Could also include uncles, aunts and their children </li></ul>
  4. 4. Single parent family <ul><li>One parent and their dependant children </li></ul>
  5. 5. Household <ul><li>Two or more persons living together but are not related </li></ul><ul><li>i.e. flatmates or a care home </li></ul><ul><li>No strong physical or emotional ties </li></ul><ul><li>Also known as a compound family </li></ul>
