What is a Hydrogen Fuel Cell?
A hydrogen fuel cell is a electrochemical conversion device, which means that it uses chemicals to generate electricity
The most common chemicals in fuel cells are hydrogen and oxygen
Fuel cells are a very clean form of energy because in a hydrogen fuel the only byproducts are water and electricity
Fuel cells have a wide variety uses (see next slide)
Hydrogen is the most plentiful element in the universe
Hydrogen has the highest energy content per unit weight of all fuels, 52,000 btu/lb, over three times that of gasoline

How does a Hydrogen Fuel Cell work?
A hydrogen fuel cell works by fusing together hydrogen and oxygen to form water
Hydrogen is stored compressed in a liquid form
The fusion of the atoms produces an electrical charge
The charge is then collected by two conductor plates
The electricity is then routed to either a battery for storage or a motor to power a car
