  • Students can record notes for each quote on their already annotated copy of HANDOUT#3 (annotated when they were working at home and in groups), or the teacher can enter notes on HANDOUT#3 projected on screen instead of using the power point. These notes can then be saved and mass-mailed to students or posted on the CLC.
  • Note how the light imagery evokes the occult idea of auras – the glow that comes off people and can supposedly be felt by those sensitive enough. Light images are thus connected with the supernatural, with destiny, making it seem as if Eriko, Yuichi and Mikage were ‘meant’ to be together as a ‘family’.

Review of homework <ul><li>Discuss what themes and ideas emerged from study of quotes about the following images in Kitchen : </li></ul><ul><li>- light and darkness </li></ul><ul><li>- plants and flowers </li></ul><ul><li>- nature </li></ul><ul><li>- pop culture and modernity </li></ul><ul><li>For this discussion you will be placed into groups that did the same topic and each group shares and notes down ideas. Then jigsaw so that ideas can be shared and recorded on all four types of image. </li></ul>
