This is a pupil presentation called the S1 Citizenship Challenge. 2010 the theme was Latin America. Pupils of S1 Hamilton Grammar were assigned a country to research and present back. The class winners progress to the Year Group Final. This was exemplified as good practice for Curriculum for Excellence when it was S1 African Adventure.

  3. 3. <ul><li>SOS Children in Villages </li></ul><ul><li>The charity began its work in Chile over thirty years ago in 1965. Today, there are thirteen SOS children's Villages and numerous associated welfare, educational and medical facilities serving the needs of vulnerable people in the neighbourhood communities. </li></ul>Charity
  4. 4. <ul><li>The first European to visit what is now Chile was the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan, who landed at Chile Island following his voyage, in 1520, through the strait that now bears his name.
