Garage Sale , Tag Sale or Yard Sale can be a lot of fun for both buyer and the sellers.
There have been a lot of articles floating around Internet about Garage Sales but no one
is focusing on techniques which are generally used by big retailers like Wal-Mart or
Macys or Ross stores. Let's see if we can focus on that side to make your Garage Sale a
success:
1. Better understand your customer needs - So go online and search for some garage
sale websites which can give you an idea about what exactly the customer is looking -

2. Advertise - Remember all the Yard/Garage Sale Signs which you have seen. Try to use
the one which might have caught your attention. You can either draw that on a
cardboard or use a computer printout.
3. Distraction from Kids - You know what McDonalds’' do to attract kids and also not
distract their parents. They have set up a Toy Zone. So you can also do the same- put
some kids' toys next to kids' clothes, the little ones will play while mom shops. And it's
likely that the kids will ask mom to buy a toy, too!!
4. Put your best things in the farthest corner & put a banner against them - this way
everyone will go thru all your stuff reaching to that place and you might find buyers.
5. Offer Bargain specials as like Macy's or Ross. Give big discounts or project as if you are
selling it for damn cheap prices. (Example 90% Off) You will surely find lot of buyers.
