    • The purpose of my slide show is to teach you or just remind you that much of what we say and how we communicate is influenced from the 1920’s. Many slang words of the roaring 20’s have been passed down through the years  and into our everyday vocabulary, changed, misused, or just eliminated.

  • 4. Baloney/Hooey Nonsense! “ US history is sooo stupid.” “ Pshh, that’s HOOEY .”
  • 5. Blind Date going out with someone you do not know ?
  • 6. BOOCOOS A large amount I had boocoos of money until I spent it all on a car.
  • 7. DAPPER A FLAPPER’S DAD
  • 8. Flat Tire A boring person. “ Why don’t you like Jimmy?” “ It’s not that I dislike him, he is just such a flat tire .”
  • 9. Gold Digger A woman who marries a man for his money
  • 10. * Heebie-jeebies * Fear The Jitters Goosebumps

    • An old car
  • 12. SCRAM!
    • To get out or leave quickly
    BYE!!!
