  2. 2. Formation of the Gang… <ul><li>The gang first emerged in Chicago during the 1940s, when several young Puerto Rican males organized into a club. Their goal was to help each other overcome the problems of racism and prejudice that newly arriving Puerto Rican immigrants were experiencing </li></ul>
  3. 3. Kings In America <ul><li>The Chicago Police department estimates that there are over 25,000 Latin Kings members in the city alone </li></ul>
  4. 4. Latin Kings Around the World <ul><li>The crown used by the Kings has five points on it, which represent Puerto Rico, Cuba, Jamaica, Haiti and Dominica Republic. However, some say the five points mean Love, Respect, Sacrifice, Honor and Obedience </li></ul>
  5. 5. Locations <ul><li>The Latin Kings have gang members around the world including the locations of South America and Europe </li></ul><ul><li>(Amor De Rey means love for the Latin Kings) </li></ul>
