  • 2. Our Objective
    • In this powerpoint, we plan to teach you about Henry Ford and what he did during the 1920s.

    • Henry Ford was born July 30 1863.
    • Ford had dyslexia.
    • Grew up on a farm but showed an early interest in mechanics.
    • Disliked his farm work and left home at age 16.
  • 4.
    • Henry Ford worked as a apprentice machinist
    • Married Clara Bryant and supported his family by running a saw mill
    • Became an engineer with the Edison Illuminating Company
  • 5.
    • He died in 1947 of a cerebral hemorrhage at the age of 83
    • Two years earlier, he gave up the presidency of his company to his grandson, Henry Ford II
  • 6.
    • Ford introduces the first moving automobile assembly line at highland park in 1913
  • 7.
    • Ford Motor Company began paying its workers $5.00 for an eight hour work day
    • Before this workers were paid only $2.34 for a nine hour day
  • 8.
    • Ford wrote a book named My Life and Work.
    • In this book, he promoted his personal views in articles and books.

    • In the early 1920s Henry Ford fell behind other competitors
    • This was because he refused to offer the Model T in only black
  • 10.
    • To help sales Ford made the Model A, introduced in 1927.
    • It was the first car with different styles – two seats or four seats.
  • 11. Model T & Model A
    • In 1926, production sales of the Model T decreased.
    • In 1927, Ford introduced the Model A to the market. It was produced from 1927 to 1931.
  • 12. Ford 4AT Trimotor
    • Ford’s most successful aircraft was the Ford 4AT Trimotor
    • The Trimotor first flew on June 11, 1926
    • First successful U.S. passenger airliner, carrying 12 passengers
  • 13. International Trade
    • In 1929, Ford had many successful dealerships in six different continents
    • Eventually, Ford was a producer of a third of the world’s automobiles
  • 14. Ford’s Museum
    • Ford opened a museum in 1929
    • The museum was named the Henry Ford Museum and its theme was practical technology
    • It is still open today
