Two-thirds of toddlers and young kids watch at least two hours of TV a day. The first 2 years of life are considered a critical time for brain development. TV is thought to get in the way of kids learning but in the 21 st century the cartoons that are on TV teach kids different life lessons and teach them about the world.

Description: “ Dora the Explorer is a half-hour animated children's television series starring a 7-year-old Latina girl and her friends. The show is designed to actively engage preschoolers in a play-along, computer-style adventure .
DORA THE EXPLORER
Dora the Explorer teaches children how to observe situations and solve problems as they explore Dora's world with her. Along the way, kids learn basic Spanish words and phrases, as well as math skills, music, and physical coordination. The show is highly interactive, and Dora's young viewers are encouraged throughout the show to respond to Dora and to actively participate in the adventure through physical movement.

Description: Spongebob is a cartoon show made specifically for entertainment. The underwater life in the show is made to seem just like the life on earth with different characters such as clams act as birds and jellyfish resemble bees giving off jelly instead of honey.
Spongebob is known by all little kids and is one of the most popular cartoons ever made. The whole plot is set just for fun and to make little children love the show and continue to watch .

Description: Jimmy, a smart elementary school boy with an above average IQ, is an inventor who’s experiments always end up going wrong and terrorizing the town.
Jimmy Neutron is a boy genius and in this cartoon he teaches the children watching, fun things that you can do using science. The experiments and inventions he makes and does gets children more interested in science and learn more about it even though they don’t realize they are learning. In the show jimmy’s experiments go wrong and yet he wont stop trying so it shows children even if you don’t succeed try again and learn from your mistakes.

Description: For the Rugrats 10 th anniversary a one hour special called “Rugrats: all growed up” was shown and received such good ratings producers filmed a spin off named “All grown up”. These episodes feature the original Rugrats characters but nine years older.

Nine years later, the Rugrats kids are no longer babies and now face the troubles that go with being a pre-teen. Because this show adjusted to the age group of its original fans, the rugrats kids are going through the same things their viewers are and showing them that it can all be ok.

During each episode Bob and friends use problem solving skills and teamwork along with math and spelling bassics. The show emphasizes conflict resolution, co-operation, socialization and various learning skills.

Description: On each Little Einsteins adventure, the lovable Little Einsteins team takes preschoolers on the “ultimate field trip” of adventure and discovery.
Little Einsteins is an interactive preschool franchise for three-to-six year olds that will encourage children to participate and become a part of every mission. Children explore nature, dive into amazing works of art, while learning about animals, and enjoy making music right along with the Little Einsteins .

While many other shows focus on teaching kids measurable skills like math and literacy, Handy Manny focuses on problems solving, humor, and interpersonal relationships. Manny's cool and relaxed style as well as his friends crazy personalities, each play a role in the storylines design to teach kids about how to get along in life and with others.

By dealing with conflicts encountered in everyday life, the program encourages children to value the love of their family, to increase self-esteem, and to develop social skills.”

Description: The weekenders, tino, carver, lor and tish live in a southern califronia beach town and spend the weekend doing totally fun things and trying to have the ultimate weekend.
The weekenders spend their time playing games and finding activities to do when they have time on the weekend. After watching this cartoon, children learn how to spend their time staying out of trouble and finding fun activities to do around their house.
