  • 1. HOW A HOOKAH WORKShttp://www.hookah-pipe.com/
  • 2. http://www.hookah-pipe.com/Hookah The hookah is fast becoming a worldwide phenomenon as more people start to pay attention to it. Most see it in pubs or night clubs and wonder what it is or how it works. It is vital to know how a hookah works before considering buying it. A brief process of how it works is presented below.
  • 3. http://www.hookah-pipe.com/Stage 1 Tobacco is inserted into the bowl at the top of the Hookah then a metallic foil with air holes and meant to hold the hot coal and prevent it from directly burning the tobacco is placed appropriately. The foil regulates the temperature the tobacco burns and limits the chances of a smoker from inhaling ash.
  • 4. http://www.hookah-pipe.com/Stage 2 The water jar or vase must be filled, with plain water or water mixed with other ingredients to produce a unique smelling smoke, up to a level that sufficiently covers the body tube that draws the smoke from the top or the bowl where tobacco is burned. Too much water will make it cumbersome to use because the smoker will be required to inhale with a lot of force.
  • 5. http://www.hookah-pipe.com/Stage 3 When the user inhales through the pipe, a chain of reaction occurs. Air is sucked into the coal chamber where it is heated and the hot air vaporizes the tobacco to produce smoke which is then passed down to the water jar through the body pipe.
  • 6. http://www.hookah-pipe.com/Stage 3 It bubbles through the water and is delivered in ‘purified’ form in a cooled state to the top section of the jar where there are pipes attached. The smoke is inhaled by the user through the pipes and the pressure change activates sucks air into the jar again and the process circle continues.
  • 7. http://www.hookah-pipe.com/Stale smoke Stale smoke is created when the hookah is lit but not smoked. This stale smoke is undesirable and can be gotten rid of through a purge valve.
  • 8. http://www.hookah-pipe.com/Stale smoke This is achieved by gently blowing air into the pipe, with all other outlets plugged, to release the stale smoke through the purge valve. This means, if there are other outlets or the Hookah is used by multiple parties then all the other outlets have to be covered for the process to effectively work.
  • 9. http://www.hookah-pipe.com/Clean the hookah Once a hookah has been used, it should not be re- used without being cleaned because this damages the flavor quality produced afterwards. Cleaning the hookah is simple but should be done with care as the equipment is fragile and can easily break if improperly cleaned.
