SMAC is a fusion of social media, mobile technology, analytics, and cloud computing that is beginning to be implemented by many companies. It allows companies to study user social profiles and interests using analytics on large amounts of user data stored in the cloud and accessed through mobile devices. For example, a marketing company can provide product suggestions based on a user's social data. HR departments also use SMAC for recruitment by having candidates register on social-connected apps and analyzing their details in the cloud. While SMAC offers benefits now, its full potential is still developing for uses like virtual offices, personal assistants, and automatic profile updates between social and professional networks in the next 10 years.

2. Mobile: Smart device which connects you to the world anytime, anywhere.
3. Analytics: Tool for processing data and generating required information at required
instance of time.
4. Cloud: A place where you can store billions of Gigabytes of data and access it easily
whenever required.
• We are already using each of these technologies in their individual forms in our day to day
operations.
• But convergence of all four technologies can give rise to a powerful technology which might
change our lives in many ways!

5. • Even if implementation of SMAC has begun all over the world in some or the other forms,
there is still a wide scope for development in this field of technology.
• With this kind of powerful technology, come some really critical challenges.
• One of the major challenges would be handling and maintaining big data on cloud for
analytics purpose. According to me, analytics will be a very interesting field to work on.
• Exploring more opportunities for SMAC implementation is also one of my interest areas.
