Project Funding is executed through STU</li></li></ul><li>CNPSTI-STPG Projects Policies<br />Proposals are initially reviewed at STUs based on the following criteria:<br /> The proposal must be complete<br /> The PI must be qualified to execute the project<br /> The project must be evaluated for legal and ethical compliance<br /> The project must not have been conducted before or a replicate<br />Proposals are then reviewed at the CNPSTI secretariat based on the following criteria:<br />The proposal must be complete and written as per the standard format provided by CNPSTI.<br />The project must be viable and tackling a problem in one area of the programs of the Strategic Technologies as described by CNPSTI.<br />The project must not have been conducted before.<br />
  20. 20. Technical Evaluation Conducted by AAAS Analyze the Proposal Against the Following Criteria<br />The quality of the proposal research: <br /><ul><li> Is the proposed research innovative?
  21. 21. Can it contribute significantly to the state of knowledge in its field?

  26. 26. Funding and Follow-up<br /><ul><li> Funding is provided in predetermined installments as per the funding contract between the PI and KACST
  27. 27. PI is required to submit financial and technical reports to the Director of the STU every 6 months
  28. 28. PI is required to submit final financial and technical reports to the STU upon project completion
  29. 29. Technical Reports must highlight the following,
  30. 30. The achievements during the period of the report and progress towards achieving objectives
  31. 31. The technical problems faced by the investigators during that period, if any
  32. 32. An updated project plan with proposed changes if required
