  • 2. Many Different Types Of People Enjoy Roller Coasters
    • Roller Coasters can flip you, twirl you, spin you, drop you and toss you. Some go so far, that you can hardly stand in the end.
    • People of all ages ride roller coasters. You will see riders from the ages of 8 to 80! Everybody enjoys them!
  • 3. The History Of Roller Coasters
    • The first roller coaster was built in 1827, in the city of Summit Hill, Pennsylvania. At first it was a way of transportation but was bought by the Thorpe family as a roller coaster.
    • The first “under-friction” roller coaster was introduced by a man named John Miller.
  • 4. Did You Know…….
    • Two of the fastest roller coasters are Steel Force and the Desperado. They both go 90 miles per hour.
    • The park with the best and most roller coasters is Cedar Point in Sandusky ,Ohio.
    • The tallest roller coaster is 415 ft. high. This roller coaster is the Super Man Escape.
    • By the 1920's, there were about 2,000 roller coasters in North America.
