    Nominated for STAR Award for Outstanding HE Teaching in 2007. Authored and built the first Initial Teacher Training (ITT) and ITT in-service courses to be studied using blended learning methodology and the first (and only) ITT course to be studied entirely online, using moodle, web 2.0 applications and Second Life. As a direct result of my own subject specialist status in English, I am the SW Regional Advocate for Research and Practice in Adult Literacy (RaPAL) and co-editor of the RaPAL Journal.
