5 ways to fall in love with your digital strategy

  1. 1. 5 WAYS TO FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR DIGITAL STRATEGY
  2. 2. WHY YOU FALL OUT OF LOVE 1. Unrealistic expectations of what you can both deliver 2. Not spending enough time together 3. Not reviewing what you’ve done and where you’re going 4. Delaying breaking up
  3. 3. HOW TO FALL IN LOVE AGAIN
  4. 4. REASSESS YOUR OBJECTIVES You can’t predict the future so expect them to change. Objectives are a guide – don’t beat yourself up if you are not meeting them. Are they the right ones? Review them at least once a quarter.
  5. 5. CHECK YOUR KPIS Make sure they are meaningful, e.g. rather than track # of Twitter followers, track follower engagement. If you achieve the KPI, ask if progress has been made. If not, it was not the right KPI.
  6. 6. ASSESS RESOURCES TIME Prioritise and schedule time to spend with the strategy. PEOPLE Check that their time is being well used and not wasted on tasks that are not core to the strategy. MONEY You may need to rearrange and drop activities to make the budget work
  7. 7. REVIEW AND AUDIT PROGRESS Read reports if they are produced for you. Reviewing regularly addresses issues and stops you from wasting time and money. Set-up a dashboard to measure progress. The time invested will pay off.
  8. 8. CONSIDER BREAKING UP You may not be compatible - if it’s not working, you need to go your separate ways. Be realistic (but you can have dreams!) Review and audit what you have done before jumping into another strategy. What difficulties have you found with digital strategies? Did you break up or stay together?
  9. 9. A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US SOME OF OUR EXISTING PARTNERS MintTwist is an independent digital ideas partner based in London.
