Zingtabs com

  1. 1. Zingtabs.com Empowered Facebook Pages
  2. 2. What are facebook pages?

Facebook pages are freely created community/business pages that reside on facebook's platform.

They allow you to do the following:

Generate interest through 'word of mouth' viral marketing via 'like' buttons, 'sharing posts/links'.

Provide a forum for like-minded individuals

Advertise a product/service with customizable 'tabs'

  3. 3. How do I customize my page to maximize use and exposure?

There are basic steps to upload a logo/image to enhance the look of your page.

There are places to insert link to embedded applications like discussion groups, reviews, etc.

Members can keep up to date via an RSS feed.

Members can share links from your page to their own 'wall' to attract new members.

Media can be uploaded and shared via the newsfeed

  4. 4. What are 'Tabs'?

Tabs are links to applications. Facebook allows the admin to add/remove applications to the page via the admin control panel. They can be any application hosted on facebook. Until recently, in order to build a 'custom' tab, facebook required people to use the FBML application. FBML stands for the Facebook Markup Language. A variation of HTML that would safely allow admins to create a mini-website.

FBML had a steep learning curve. HTML is difficult enough for some people. And here is where we saw a demand. Why not create an application that allowed people to just provide the URL of their website, and convert it to FBML?

  5. 5. What are Zingtabs?

Zingtabs was originally an FBML compatible application that provided an iframe to the web. All admins had to do was tell Zingtabs the URL of a page, and edit that page in the usual fashion that a web designer would do.

Eventually, facebook saw the light, and started allowing iframe applications for all. By then, Zingtabs had a fairly large client base, and saw that they too wanted full blown iframe applications, but still didn't now how to interface with facebook.

The facebook developer application where applications are configured, is still very intense and intricate for a new developer. Zingtabs decided to modify our application to suit this need.

  6. 6. What came next?

We developed Zingtabs 2.0. This application allowed people to embed an iframe without the FBML conversion, and still have the ease of use created by the original Zingtabs.

Facebook decided that FBML was to be deprecated, and that developers needed to host applications using O.auth and SSL. A much more secure method of passing information, to answer security concerns that arose in 2010.

Now, the developer application got even more convoluted, difficult, and expensive to employ. Zingtabs saw another opportunity. We could provide all the back-end coding on a shared basis and still have a viable product.

  7. 7. What's required to host applications in a tab, and what does Zingtabs provide?

Required:

Web hosting for HTML files

Image/media hosting

SSL certificate

PHP/Java scripts to connect to the facebook platform

Provided:

Yes

No, but coming soon.

Embedded links can be used now.

Yes

Yes

  8. 8. How we got to 3,000,000 monthly active users

1 Zingtab on a page with an average of 1,000 fans per page.

1,000 'fans' = 100,000 page views per month.

2800 pages x 100,000 page views = 2.8 million hits!

Our linked banner is on the top of every tab/page that is shown unless they are a paid subscriber. This creates 2.8 million monthly opportunities to sell our product.

This happened last month with ONE tab. We have 2 and are planning on adding 16 more. Our 2nd tab generated 825,000 hits last month taking us to almost 4 million hits.

  9. 9. What's the opportunity now?

Take the current model and replicate it for branded resale

Sell advertising

Sell other services such as:

Web hosting

Web design

Graphic design services

Marketing application design/sale

4. Sell training/educational services

  10. 10. Competition

Currently Zingtabs is competing with over 100 other developers of a similar product. The largest of which are:

involver.com (very expensive, and partnered with facebook)

northsocial.com (just sold for $8million to an advertising company)

static-html (appears to be a hobby site with over 20 million MAU. Since it's free, that's not surprising)

Since we made it to #2 on the fastest growing applications list of allfacebook.com behind static-html, we think we've done very well with $0 startup capital.

  11. 11. The future

Since Zingtabs was the original provider of this form of service, we think we have a leg up on our competitors in knowing the clients' needs. All things are in place with a huge potential for growth. We are currently working on these two potentially explosive applications:

Zingtabs Mobile - provides a smartphone-compatible tab so people can interact with your page via mobile.

Zingtabs Real Estate - Real Estate agents can build a database of properties in their tab, and also provide access for mobile clients like themselves, and others who are out looking at property.

  12. 12. Even more...

Marketing apps like the Zingdialog app. Where anyone can create an impressive looking 'share' link with opengraph meta-data configured automatically.

Other apps like CMS plugins for Wordpress, Weebly, Tumblr, Flickr, etc. to allow simple content design.

Statistic tracking to assist clients with market data.

All these and many more can easily be inserted into facebook via Zingtabs. We can provide a complete Social Networking/Marketing environment for an business/organization.

  13. 13. Conclusion

Zingtabs is primed for explosive opportunity in the current market trend toward social networking. It was built with nothing, and in a year, caught the notice of 3 million people per month.

Imagine the return if we filled the following needs?

More developers to speed production.

Sales/marketing people to sell product

Executive management resources to grow this into a large corporation
