What is MicroGiving.com? - Presentation Transcript

    1. What is MicroGiving?
    2. MicroGiving is…
An online marketplace similar to eBay but instead of buyers and sellers there are Donors and Recipients.
MicroGiving connects Donors and Recipients directly allowing Donors to make a difference with “micro” amounts of money!
“In short, MicroGiving is like “Passing the Virtual Hat” for those in need”
    3. How Does MicroGiving Work?
      Recipients
Recipients are defined as Individuals, Families & Small Nonprofit Organizations in need.
      Donors
Donors are defined as anyone who has a few dollars to spare. Even as little as $1.
Recipients join the MicroGiving community, complete a MicroGiving profile, upload photos, create a “request” and send MicroGiving their supporting documents.
MicroGiving reviews Recipient supporting documents and verifies their cause. Once verified, MicroGiving publishes their “Request” with a donate button on the Recipient’s profile.
Donors visit www.MicroGiving.com and either (a) join the MicroGiving community and then make a donation or (b) Browse Recipient profiles in the “Find a Cause” section and then make a direct donation to a cause they care about most!
Experience the feel good sensation of being able to directly help someone in need instantly!
    4. Success Story
      Becky Raymond
“We are a family of 4 living in a rural town in South Carolina. 2 in our family are disabled and 1 has special needs. We do our best to overcome challenges and do what we can on our own using as little government or public aid as possible.”
Becky desperately needed a mobility scooter so she could leave her home. However, being on a fixed income she wasn’t able to afford one.
MicroGiving helped Becky Raymond receive 10 donations totaling $300 dollars so she could get a mobility scooter!
    5. Becky Raymond
I came to MicroGiving at a low point in my life. I was learning to accept that I had finally lost my independent mobility. Little by little I just fell into a depression…
While I was here I found something else far greater than the funds. It was hope, acceptance, support and understanding. A community of friends who are willing to share in good days and bad days.
      ~ Becky
I will say this… I am thankful to have received help, but my most rewarding experience of all was the day I deposited money into my donor account and started giving hope to others.
    6. Case Study
      Travis Zimmerman
Travis is 21 years old and was involved in a motorcycle accident on June 10th. He was cut off by a driver that simply did not see him. He was not speeding nor driving recklessly.
Travis has a skull fracture and shearing of the brain which means that there are areas all over that will need to heal and re-wire. This can only happen with proper therapy. There was very little insurance money available from the person that hit my son and Medicaid will only pay for 45 days of Rehab…. Read More Click Here

Bambi’s leg had to be pinned, plated and a wedge inserted due to a previous break while owned by the pet shop. Chris, her new owner, had Bambi 1 week when they noticed something wrong with Bambi and found out her leg was broken. The pet shop will not help them with bill even though surgeon places original break while under their care. Read More Click Here
