  • 2. The BIG IDEAS
    • Security-Affidavits
    • Give the correct tests
    • Read the “Say” boxes EXACTLY as written
  • 3. Testing Locations
    • Students who are taking the CST will do so in their own classrooms.
    • Students who are taking the CMA (instead of the CST) will do so in RSP room or ELL room, based on the schedule.
  • 4. Test Prep Information
    • Affidavits must be signed and returned
    • Testing Schedule: See calendar for times
    • Prepare rooms for testing-
      • Cover instructional materials related to content of test
      • Michelle will make rounds the week prior to check for proper coverage.
  • 5. What do I cover up?
    • “ Make sure that no instructional materials directly related to the content of the tests are visible to students .
        • Inappropriate materials include, but are not limited to, vocabulary or spelling lists, phonics charts, and tables of mathematical facts or formulas. All such materials must be removed or covered during the testing session.” (page 5)
  • 6. Test Operations
    • Student answer documents and test booklets are to be kept together
    • Test is not timed…students who need more time to test must be escorted to the principal’s office by an adult (proctor) when there are one or two students left
    • No CAT 6 for 3 rd grade anymor e
    • Pickup and drop off is in Principal’s Office (Before school, recess, or lunch)
    • Keep list of students who are absent and need a make-up (will be attached)
    • Students may read a book when they are done
  • 7. Identify Info on Test Booklet and Answer Document
    • All students in grades 2-6 must complete Section 1 on their test booklets or answer documents (Student Name, Test Examiner, School, District)
    • Students grades 4 - 6 write their names on the test booklets and code the test version number on their answer document
  • 8. DFA
    • DFA= Directions for Administration
    • The “SAY” boxes must be read to students exactly as they are written
    • Refer to DFA Checklist before, during, and after the test
    • Review Pages 1, 4, 5, 6, 7

    • This is the site where you can view the full Non-Secure Directions for Administration (otherwise known as the DFA)
  • 10. ELL Students
    • Teacher may only translate the directions that are in the “Say” boxes marked with a “T”
    • Teacher must mark Section A4 on student answer document if the student used allowable testing variations for EL Learners.
  • 11. Science
    • Reference sheets will be included in the test booklets.
    • The DFA includes directions on how to remove the reference sheet.
  • 12. What about the CMA & STS?
    • CMA will be administered to eligible students in grades 3-6th. These students may or may not be taking the CMA in both content areas.
    • Newcomer EL Learners in grades 2-6 would be taking the STS with Mrs. Polaske, in addition to their CST or CMA . (none at this time.)
  • 13. Variations, Accommodations, Modifications
    • Can a student mark in a test booklet?
      • Yes. Grades 2-3 must remove marks to avoid scanning interference.
    • See appendix E for a full list of other variations, accommodations, modifications.
