      • Experts say that teenagers, up until their twenties, need about 9.2 hours of sleep each night. Less sleep makes kids less aware and lowers grades. Our survey found that there is a correlation between sleep and grades. If you get less sleep, you don’t get as good grades. Puberty changes teenagers’ internal clocks so that the proper levels

      • of melatonin needed to fall asleep easi ly aren’t produced until around 11:00 PM. Large amounts of homework can make kids stay awake later, and early school start times keep them from getting more sleep. Once they hit adolescence, teenagers need more sleep than adults and young children do. We have found that the optimal amount of sleep for teenagers is around 8 to 10 hours, fitting in with what experts say. In conclusion, if you want students to get better grades, they need more sleep.
