  • 2. Removing the right of political parties toset up booths to assist voters establishtheir names on the electoral roll andsaluran numbers, identity of voters beforegoing into polling stations ( called"pondok panas" ) [Section (26)(1)(e)] 2
  • 3. Removing the right of political parties tohave representatives observing theprocess in the SPR booths inside pollingstations ( Barung SPR ) where voterscheck their names and get their salurannumbers etc [section 26A] 3
  • 4. Amending section 14 (1A) so that theSPR would dictate the time of arrival anddeparture of polling and counting agentsof candidates at polling stations. Thecurrent law provided for polling andcounting agents to arrive at the timedecided by the political parties as long asthey stayed at the polling stations for atleast 2 hours. 4
  • 5. Removal of section 11(1)(c) requiring allprinted material during campaign to bearthe name of the publisher and printer.This has opened the door to a dirtierelection where all sorts of defamatory orinflammatory material could be put outwithout anyone taking responsibility forthem. 5
