Echolocation When dolphins are in murky waters or in the dark parts of the ocean they can’t see. They use echolocation to find food or other dolphins. Dolphins can make a high pitched clicking sound. When the click hits a object some of the sound will echo back. By listening to the echo and estimating the time it took to come back they can guess the distance of the object.
