Cheetahs

  1. 1. Cheetahs Did you know that people in India used to watch cheetahs eat gazelles? Cheetahs are an endangered species. Now they mostly live south of the Saharan desert in Africa. There is also a small population in I ran and Northern Africa. Lions will eat cheetah cubs if the cub gets to far away from its mother. If you thought that was interesting, read on to find out more about cheetahs. Cheetahs have a very wide variety of foods. From fruit such as melons all the way to ostriches or other large birds. They also have the occasional rabbit or lizard.
  2. 2. Sometimes if they’re low on food, cheetahs will have an egg from the nest of a bird. Cheetahs have a lot of eye catching features. One of them is the cheetah’s tear lines. Tear lines are bold, black lines that run from the corner of their eyes down to their mouths. They reflect the sun like the grease that athletes put under their eyes. That is one way you can tell a cheetah from a leopard. Mother cheetahs are very protective over their cubs. If a new born cheetah cub wonders to far away from their mom, the mother will make a chirping noise. If they don’t come back, their mom will carry them by their neck fat. Tear Lines
  3. 3. Sadly, if they don’t return in time, a lion or hyena might eat them. You may not want to see a cheetah eat a gazelle but you might want to see them at your local zoo.
