  1. 1. My.SSS Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)I. General Information 1. What is My.SSS? My.SSS is an online service portal of the enhanced SSS Website that allows SSS members and employers exclusive access to their social security records and to submit transactions online. 2. Why is it important to register at My.SSS? Registration is necessary to ensure information security and to prevent identity theft. Registration allows members to designate their preferred user id and password and for employers to input their preferred user id and receive the system-generated password via electronic mail. After successful registration, the members and employers receive the confirmation email from SSS containing their user id and password. 3. Is there legal basis for online access to My.SSS? Online access to My.SSS is in accordance with Section 24 (c) of the Social Security Law, otherwise known as Republic Act (RA) 8282, and Section 31 of the Electronic Commerce Act or RA 8792 which provisions are cited below: RA 8282 - Section 24. Employment Records and Reports – (c) “The records and reports duly accomplished and submitted to the SSS by the employer or the member, as the case may be, shall be kept confidential by the SSS except in compliance with a subpoena duces tecum issued by the Courts, shall not be divulged without the consent of the SSS President or any official of the SSS duly authorized by him...” RA 8792 - Section 31. Lawful Access – “Access to an electronic file or an electronic signature of an electronic data message or electronic document shall only be authorized and enforced in favor of an individual or entity having legal right to the possession or the use of the plaintext, electronic signature or file and solely for the authorized purposes. The electronic key for identity or integrity shall not be made available to any person or party without consent of the individual or entity in lawful possession of the electronic key.” 4. Who can register at My.SSS? The following may register at My.SSS: • Employed members who have been reported by an employer for coverage to the SSS and individual members such as self-employed, voluntary, overseas Filipino worker (OFW), including non-working spouse who have at least one (1) month posted contribution; • Employers; and • Household employers who have existing SS numbers and have been reported for coverage either as employed/self-employed/voluntary/OFW/non-working spouse members or are retirement pensioners may register at My.SSS as member and should use the details of their current membership. 1
  2. 2. 5. Is there a fee for registration at My.SSS? None. Registration at My.SSS is free of charge. 6. Can My.SSS be accessed after office hours or even abroad? Yes. My.SSS can be accessed anytime and anywhere provided you have Internet access and a compatible browser. Just type www.sss.gov.ph in the web browser address bar. 7. Can I apply for SSS membership or secure an SS number online? No. Currently, application for membership and issuance of SS number still require personal appearance and presentation of identification documents at any SSS branch office. 8. What are the system requirements to access My.SSS? The following are the minimum system requirements: • Personal Computer with Internet connection • Microsoft Windows 95 and above operating system versions • Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 6.0 and 7.0 9. Does successful submission of the registration information mean automatic registration at My.SSS? No. The information submitted to SSS shall be validated and registration will only be considered successful if all the information provided matches SSS records. If the system finds discrepancies or if the required format is not followed, then the attempt at registration fails and the member will receive regret notification through email.II. Member Account 1. What can My.SSS do for me? My.SSS provides your greater convenience enabling you to transact with the SSS even beyond regular office hours. You can download and print your social security records, set appointment with your SSS servicing branch and submit transactions online. 2. How can I access My.SSS? Go to the SSS website at http://www.sss.gov.ph and locate the appropriate box for Member Log-in wherein you will encode your user id and password. 3. Can a person who has been issued an SS number but has not yet been reported by an employer for coverage register at My.SSS? No. A person who has not yet been reported for coverage and has no contribution payment will not be able to register at My.SSS. To register at My.SSS, members should have been reported by an employer for coverage or has at least one (1) month posted contribution. 4. How will I register if I am already separated from my employer? If you are separated from your employer and have not paid premium contributions under self- employed or voluntary coverage thereafter, then you should follow the last update on your SSS membership. For registration purposes, you will need to input the employer ID of the latest employer who reported you for coverage. 2
  3. 3. 5. Can my employer be allowed to access my account at My.SSS? No. Your employer will not be given access to your account at My.SSS. If needed, you will need to create and access your own account and just provide your employer with any needed information. This is in accordance with Section 24 (c) of the Social Security Law on the confidentiality of members records.6. How can I obtain a user ID and password? Upon registration, you will be asked to designate and confirm your preferred user id and password. However, you should await the confirmation email from SSS containing your user id and password upon successful registration.A. Online Registration1. How do I register at My.SSS? The registration for members consists of two phases. 1) To register, go to the SSS website at http://www.sss.gov.ph 2) To begin the first phase of the registration, you may choose any of the following options: a) Click on the Register Now button found in the Homepage; b) Click on Register in the My.SSS tab; or c) Click the link, Sign Up as a Member below the Member Login box 3) Select Member appropriate type of user 4) Supply the required information in the Online Member User ID Registration 5) Submit the page and wait for the email reply from SSS (noreply@sss.gov.ph) 6) Upon receipt of the email from SSS, click the given link to proceed with the next phase of the registration process 7) For the second phase of the registration, supply all the required information in the Online Member User ID Registration 8) Submit the page and wait for the email from SSS regarding the outcome of the registration2. What are the required information in the registration as a member? For Phase 1 SS Number Type in the correct 10-digit SS number with no space or dash First, Middle and Last Names If with SS card, you should follow the format appearing on the card Middle name is not required and may be left blank If full name exceeds allowed number of characters, simply type the letters including spaces until all character spaces have been filled. Long or Multiple names may need to be truncated. Date of Birth Select the month, day and year from the drop-down menu Email Address Email account must be valid and active. Household employers who have existing SS numbers and have been reported for coverage either as employed/self-employed/voluntary/OFW/non-working spouse members or are retirement pensioners may register at My.SSS as member and should use the details of their current membership status in the registration. However, household employers falling under the following categories cannot yet register in the SSS website as household employer: • Household employers with SS number but who have not been reported for coverage either as employed/self-employed/voluntary/OFW/non-working spouse member; • Household employers with SS number who are sixty (60) years old and above and who have not been reported for coverage as employed/self-employed/voluntary/OFW/non- working spouse member; and • Household employers with no contribution payment as employed/self- employed/voluntary/OFW/non-working spouse member.B. Account Inquiry 1. What information can be viewed from the SSS website? The members can view their membership details, employment history, loan status, contribution payments and benefits availment and loan/benefit eligibility. 2. How can I inquire about my contributions and membership details? After logging-in to your account, select from the Main Menu the Online Inquiry tab. Mouse over Member Info and choose from among the information available namely: actual premiums, member details, employment history, SSS ID Card and SSS servicing branch. 3. How can I inquire about my benefits? After logging-in to your account, select from the Main Menu the Online Inquiry tab. Mouse over Benefit and choose from among the information available namely: disability, death, retirement and funeral, pension history, sickness benefit, maternity benefit , and EC medial benefit. 4. How can I inquire about my loan records? After logging-in to your account, select from the Main Menu the Online Inquiry tab. Mouse over loan status to verify your loan status. To view your statement of account, scroll down the list of availed loans then select the particular type of loan you want to view. Click the link Statement of Account and Loan Payments to view the needed loan information. 5. How do I know if I am qualified to avail of benefits or loans? After logging-in to your account, select from the Main Menu the Online Inquiry tab. Mouse over Eligibility to verify if you are qualified to avail of certain benefits or loan privileges. You may likewise click Documents to view the requirements for benefits and loan applications. 5
  6. 6. 6. How can I inquire about the requirements in filing claims? After logging-in to your account, select from the Main Menu the Online Inquiry tab. Mouse over Documents and select the type of benefit to display the checklist of documents required in filing the claim. 7. How will I print the information that I need? To print the information displayed on the screen, scroll down the page by sliding the vertical bar downward. Click on Printable Version and execute the print command by clicking on the print icon found on the lower right portion of the page.C. Online Submission of Transactions 1. What type of transactions can I do online? Members who are registered at My.SSS can submit salary loan application and maternity notification online. Members who are also household employers can submit their SS Form H3 (Contribution Collection List for Household Helpers). 2. How can I submit salary loan application through the SSS website? After logging-in to the Member account, select from the Main Menu the Transactions tab and click Salary Loan Application. The details of the loan eligibility will be displayed. Read the terms and conditions carefully and click on “I agree to the Terms and Conditions” button if you wish to submit your salary loan application. Click the appropriate button to either print, submit or cancel the transaction. For employed members, salary loan applications submitted online will be directed to the employers My.SSS account for certification. 3. How can I submit my maternity notification through the website? After logging-in to the Member account, select from the Main Menu the Transactions tab and click on Maternity Notification. Fill-in the required information in the maternity notification screen that will be displayed. Click the appropriate button to either print, submit or cancel your transaction. For currently employed members, maternity notification shall be submitted through the employer’s SSS web account. 4. How can I submit the contributions collection list for my household helpers? After logging-in to the Member account, select from the Main Menu the Transactions tab and click Submission of Contribution Collection List (H3). Click the appropriate link to Download R3 File Generator, Create Collection List Online, Upload Collection Lists or Edit Previously Submitted Collection List. Click the appropriate button to save, submit or cancel the transaction. 5. If I have an employer, can I use the SSS online submission facility even if my employer is not registered at My.SSS? If you are currently employed, it is required that your employer is registered in the SSS website for you to be able to apply for salary loan or submit maternity notification online. 6
  7. 7. 6. What will happen to my salary loan application submitted online if my employer fails to certify? If the salary loan application submitted online is not certified by your employer within three (3) days, the application automatically expires. You will need to re-submit an application if the previous application has expired. 7. How will I know the status of my salary loan application? You will be notified through email about the status of your salary loan application. 8. How will I receive the proceeds of my approved salary loan? If your salary loan is approved, the salary loan check will be sent via registered mail to the address indicated in your My.SSS profile. For employed members, the check will be sent via registered mail to the employer’s address. 9. How will I know if the salary loan check will be sent to my correct address? Before submitting your salary loan application online, you will be prompted to check the address registered in your profile. If updating is necessary, you may click on Update Profile to encode the correct mailing address. 10. If I am currently employed, can I use the online submission facility for maternity notification? No. If you are currently employed, maternity notification should be submitted online through your employer’s My.SSS account. 11. Will the SSS provide any document as proof of the transaction I submitted online? A transaction number shall be issued to serve as evidence of the transaction submitted online. You may copy the number, print the acknowledgement page itself or refer to the email notification sent to you.III. Employer Account 1. What can My.SSS do for an employer like me? My.SSS provides a more convenient and economical way for you to transact with SSS wherein as an employer, you can download and print records of membership details, contribution payments, loan repayments, and sickness and maternity payment claim history and submit reports online. 2. How can I access My.SSS? Go to the SSS website at http://www.sss.gov.ph and locate the appropriate box for Employer Log-in wherein you will encode the employers user ID and password. 3. Can the employer access the social security records of its employees using My.SSS? No. The employer is not allowed to access the individual records of its employees. This is in accordance with the provision of the Social Security Law on the confidentiality of members records. 4. How will the employer receive its password? Employers will receive a confirmation email containing the instructions on how to secure the password from the SSS servicing branch. For employer web registrants, the registered email should be the official corporate email and not the personal email account of the employer representative. 7

Set the default on the first day of the month. How can the employer inquire about its payment history? After logging-in to the Employer account, select from the Main menu the Online Inquiry tab. Mouse over Payment History and choose from among the information available, namely: R5 payments, R3 totals, R3-R5 reconciliation and confirmation of payment. 4. How can the employer inquire about its sickness reimbursements? After logging-in to the Employer account, select from the Main menu the Online Inquiry tab. Mouse over Sickness and choose from among the information available, namely: EC sickness payee history, SS sickness payee history and sickness claim history. 5. How can the employer inquire about its maternity reimbursements? After logging-in to the Employer account, select from the Main menu the Online Inquiry tab. Mouse over Maternity and choose from among the information available, namely: maternity payee history and maternity claim history. 6. How can the employer inquire about its short term loan history? After logging-in to the Employer account, select from the Main menu the Online Inquiry tab. Mouse over Short Term Loan and choose from among the information available, namely: billing collection list and loan payments. 7. How can the employer print the information it needs? To print the information displayed on the screen, scroll down the page by sliding the vertical bar downward. Click on Printable version and execute the print command.C. Online Submission of Transactions 1. What type of transactions can be submitted by employers online? Employers can submit SS Form R3 (Contribution Collection List), SS Form R1A (Subsequent Employment Report) and ML2 (Loans Collection List), certify salary loan applications and submit maternity notification of their employees. 9

After logging-in to the Employer account, select from the Main Menu the Transactions tab and click on Submission of Contribution Collection List (R3). Click the appropriate link to Download R3 File Generator, Create Collection List Online, Upload Collection Lists, or Edit Previously Submitted Collection List. Click the appropriate button to save, submit or cancel the transaction.3. Can the employer use the online facility to submit collection lists for late contribution payments which were charged with penalties? No. Currently, collections lists corresponding to payments made on a monthly basis within the set deadline and without penalty/ies can be submitted online.4. How can an employer submit its loan collection lists online? After logging-in to the Employer account, select from the Main Menu the Transactions tab and click on Submission of Loan Collection List (ML2). Click the appropriate link to either Download LMS File Generator, Create Collection List Online, Upload Collection Lists, Submit from Latest Billing or Edit Previously Submitted Collection List. Click the corresponding button to either submit or cancel the transaction.5. How can the employer submit the maternity notification of its employees? After logging-in to the Employer account, select from the Main Menu the Transactions tab and click the link Maternity Notification to display the Maternity Notification Encoding Module. Fill-in the required information and click the corresponding button to either add or cancel the transaction.6. How can an employer submit the list of new/additional employees online? After logging-in to the Employer account, select from the Main Menu the Transactions tab and click the link Submission of Employment Report (R1A) to display the R1A Encoding Module. Fill-in the required information and click the corresponding button to either add, clear or cancel the transaction.7. How can an employer certify the salary loan applications of its employees? After logging-in to the Employer account, select from the Main Menu the Transactions tab and click the link Certification of Salary Loan to display the list of employees who filed their salary loan applications online. Select the option to either certify or not certify the salary loan applications. Click the corresponding button to either print or submit the transaction.8. Why is there a need for an employer to certify the salary loan applications of its employees? By certifying the salary loan application, the employer confirms the employees status of employment and the capability to pay the monthly amortization due for the loan.9. How will an employer know if there are pending salary loan applications submitted by its employees online? The employer will be notified through email and will be prompted upon log-in to the SSS website that there is/are pending salary loan application/s to be certified. 10
  11. 11. 10. Will the employer receive any proof of the transaction submitted online? Yes, a transaction number will be issued as evidence of the transaction submitted online. The employer may copy the number, print the acknowledgment page itself or refer to the email notification sent to them.IV. Problems Encountered and Online Assistance 1. What does it mean when I receive an email informing that my registration failed? Online registration fails when you enter information that does not match the information on file with SSS. 2. What shall I do if I cannot submit my registration information and instead see an error message that says, “SSS ID already exists? If you have supplied all the fields required, you should be able to successfully submit your registration. If you cannot submit your registration, it is either due to a previously approved registration or a pending registration on queue for system validation by SSS. You may seek assistance regarding your registration through any of the following: a) Visiting the nearest SSS branch office; b) Calling the SSS Hotline at 920-6446 up to 55 (serves callers from Monday to Friday [except holidays] from 8:00am – 5:00pm); c) Sending an email at member_relations@sss.gov.ph; or d) Finding the Philippine Social Security System on Facebook 3. What shall I do if I cannot submit my registration information and instead see an error message that says, “User ID already exists” or E-mail address already exists? Registration at My.SSS requires designation of a unique user ID, hence, you need to select a different user ID in case the one you are submitting already exists or has already been taken. Sharing of emails is not allowed in the SSS web registration, hence, one email address is required per registration. 4. What will I do if instead of receiving a password, I am informed through email that my registration failed? You may seek assistance regarding failed registration through any of the following: a) Visiting the nearest SSS branch office; b) Calling the SSS Hotline at 920-6446 up to 55 (serves callers from Monday to Friday [except holidays] from 8:00am – 5:00pm); c) Sending an email at member_relations@sss.gov.ph; or d) Finding the Philippine Social Security System on Facebook 5. What will I do if I dont receive any reply from SSS after submitting the registration information? After submitting the registration information online, you should receive an email from SSS within twenty-four (24) hours whether your registration was successful or not. Non-receipt of any reply from SSS could mean that you have registered an invalid email address. In such case, you may seek assistance through any of the following: a) Visiting the nearest SSS branch office; b) Calling the SSS Hotline at 920-6446 up to 55 (serves callers from Monday to Friday [except holidays] from 8:00am – 5:00pm); 11
  12. 12. c) Sending an email at member_relations@sss.gov.ph; or d) Finding the Philippine Social Security System on Facebook6. What will I do if I forgot my password or user ID? In case you forgot your password or your user ID, you may retrieve the same provided your account is not blocked and your registered email is still active. To retrieve your password or your user ID, click the link below “Forgot User ID or Password?” found in the Member/Employer Log-in box. To retrieve your password, enter your user ID or to retrieve your user ID, input your registered email address.7. What will I do if I forgot my user ID and/or email address? In case you forgot your user ID and/or email address, you may seek assistance through any of the following: a) Visiting the nearest SSS branch office; b) Calling the SSS Hotline at 920-6446 up to 55 (serves callers from Monday to Friday [except holidays] from 8:00am – 5:00pm); c) Sending an email at member_relations@sss.gov.ph; or d) Finding the Philippine Social Security System on Facebook8. What will I do if my account gets blocked? In case of blocked access due to three (3) consecutive incorrect password entries, receipt of an invalid password, you may request for a password reset through any of the following: a) Visiting the nearest SSS branch office; b) Calling the SSS Hotline at 920-6446 up to 55 (serves callers from Monday to Friday [except holidays] from 8:00am – 5:00pm); c) Sending an email at member_relations@sss.gov.ph; or d) Finding the Philippine Social Security System on Facebook9. What will I do if I need to change my designated user ID? Once your registration is approved, your designated user ID becomes your permanent log-in identification in the SSS website. If you deemed it extremely necessary to change your designated user ID, you may seek assistance through any of the following: You may seek assistance regarding your registration through any of the following: a) Visiting the nearest SSS branch office; b) Calling the SSS Hotline at 920-6446 up to 55 (serves callers from Monday to Friday [except holidays] from 8:00am – 5:00pm); c) Sending an email at member_relations@sss.gov.ph; or d) Finding the Philippine Social Security System on Facebook10. What will I do if the email I registered at My.SSS is no longer active or can no longer be accessed? If you can still log-in to your account, you may use the Update Profile tab under the Main Menu to input a new and valid email address. What will an employer do if the designated employer representative gets separated and its My.SSS account can no longer be accessed? Security 1. How secure is my access to My.SSS? The process of user registration ensures that access to SS records is given to rightful members. In addition, once the member has successfully logged in to the SSS website, communication link is protected through a secure http communications protocol. You can also click on the padlock symbol found at the right side of the address bar or the status bar to verify the website. 2. Can anybody else access my account through My.SSS? No, unless you give your user ID and password out. By law, the user ID and password allows us to identify you as the valid owner of the web account. 3. Will the system-generated or reset password serve as my permanent password? No, to ensure security of access to your own account, you will automatically be prompted to change the system-generated or reset password. The new password should be different from the system-generated or old password. In changing the password, you will need to supply the following information in the appropriate fields: Old password : (enter the system-generated password) New password : (enter preferred password) Confirm password : (re-enter the preferred password) 4. What should I remember when changing the system-generated password? The password that you will create will be valid for a period of one hundred eighty (180) days. After that period, the system will again prompt you to change your password: Here are some helpful tips in creating a new password: • The password is case-sensitive. • The password should have a minimum of eight (8) and a maximum of twenty (20) characters. • The password may be alphanumeric but the first character must always be alphabetic. • The password that you will create should not be the same as the last two (2) passwords used. 5. Can I change my password earlier than its expiration? Yes, you may do so by logging-in to access your account and clicking on the Change Password tab found under the Main Menu at the left panel of the screen. 13
  14. 14. 6. Can my access to My.SSS be blocked? Yes, your access to My.SSS will be blocked if youve typed an incorrect password for five (5) consecutive times.7. Does SSS ask for my user ID and password through email? SSS will never ask you to provide your user ID and password through email. If you receive such request, please do not respond or click any links or attachments contained in the email. For purposes of verification of blocked accounts, however, the SSS may ask for the user ID. 14
