Project General  Kentkart is market leader in Turkey with 3000 smartcard top-up points and 12 milyon prepaid contactless smartcards since 1998.  Goal: To be market leader in small payments sector through interoperable City Card Applications.  Project Time Line: Kentkart started to develop city card application 2 years ago.  Project Partner: MasterCard M-Chip Advance 3

Why Multi-Functional City Card?           Conformity with global specs Valid all around the world Withdraw the remaining balance Fulfilling transportation need (last check-in – line information, season ticket, discount information, etc.) Works with contact or contactless Fast and Secure Can be personalized Physical or Digital money wire transfer, EFT and over POS refill Secure PIN protected Wide logging infrastructure

Project – Specification  Card      Contact/Contactless EMV Mastercard Mchip Advance technology No-name, prepaid Interoperable storage management on IDS (Integrated Data Storage) Business Model     Cooperation with a Bank, Public transport operator, Payment Processor (Bank IT) Company A new BIN is obtained from MasterCard Public transport IDS application is managed by PTO EMV host side transaction processing, switching and clearing is handled by processor company 6

International Interoperability  Open to international contactless offline EMV transactions    Open to international contactless online EMV transactions   Money shall be deducted from chip balance 5 different currencies (€, $, etc.) defined for chip balance (accumulator) Money shall be deducted from cardholders account Operators can use available volatile slots for storing transit related data 11

Inspection   Inspectors need to get proof of payment information either from card or from host Storing transit ride log inside the card    Data slots Transaction log records (Terminal proprietary field) Checking from host   Terminal can send prepaid card transactions to host immediately Inspector can check transaction information of the card by going online and getting the card ride report from host 12
