Synopsis

 1. 1. Our Group film marketing
2. 2. Synopsis
A group of adolescents decide to rebel against the system and start committing petty crimes in their neighborhood, their visions of reviving punkish anarchy and causing civil unrest sees them quickly spiral into slapstick, accident prone Leon Trotsky wannabes.
3. 3. Research
For research, we looked at different English crime dramas, like In Bruges (2008) and Wild Target (2010) we learnt that the criminals in the story are normally very bad at committing crimes and normally end up getting in trouble as a result. We also realized that there are normally a few stereotypical characters in these films, like the idiot and the kind loner.
4. 4. Poster layout
The bus stop Scene.
Two little guys at the front of the poster and the two bigger guys at the back. Examples below.
5. 5. Publicity Campaign
The film In Bruges (2008)Film4 financed the film, so they would show adverts for the film to increase popularity.
Universal Pictures International (UPI) distributed the film in Belgium, the UK and the Netherlands. As UPI is a big company, this means that they can market this film internationally.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6boWrEcaXSY
6. 6. Word of Mouth
I would send the film to a film festival, like the Sundance Film Festival or the London Film Festival.
Using teenagers and by using the internet to create the film’s website, we will target the younger audience and they’ll pass their thoughts of this film to their friends quickly, thus increasing the word of mouth.
We’ll use big name actors by using TV actors who want to escape onto the film set, thus bringing their audience in to see the film. We’ll also use magazines to put articles about the film, mainly in Empire magazine.
7. 7. Mise-en-scene
Iconic images in our film will be the setting of the film, as in crime comedies the setting is normally an urban setting, so our film is being set in Reigate, which has all the conventions of an urban place.
We’ll also have the main characters as being very bad at committing crimes, which is another convention for crime comedies.
This is a poster of
Perrier’s Bounty,
which shares the
same conventions
