3. Audience Feedback (Trailer)
The film trailer contains the genre of that as thriller
and overall the trailer uses “Enigma Codes” which
are used frequently in many different types of thriller
movies in order to keep the audience guessing
which is what we did in our own trailer. It succeeded
as the audience questioned many things revolving
around the plot as well as what the antagonist
intends to do and why he even did it in the first
place.
4. Audience Feedback (Trailer)
Continued
We showed the trailer to our target audience
consisting of students that are to the ages of
16-18 and their comments to our trailer was
that it was fine and good, but it felt as if the
trailer was missing certain scenes to
emphasize the actual plot of the trailer. We
informed the students that this was the actual
purpose of the trailer since we used Enigma
Codes to keep the audience guessing and to
feel as if they were in a sense of mystery due
to the trailer having very little revealed about
the actual film itself.
5. Audience Feedback (Trailer)
Continued
Feedback was to add more scenes that explain the plot a little better and to
introduce a few more characters as most horror films have an entire cast
that does not consist of only three people despite how major they are in the
actual film. Background characters are important to add too as it creates a
kind of society and if other characters were to interact with the major
characters then it would show off other stories as well as keep the audience
interested for the only relationships described in the actual film were that of
the antagonist, protagonist and heroine although that even then wasn’t
explained well enough. The only relationship explained well enough was that
of the protagonist and female which is obvious from the start as they are
romantically involved with each other. Our audience also stated that it would
be best to add more dialogue as it makes it more interesting, but overall
despite the improvements needed to be made the trailer was received well
for the special effects, scene transitions and story build up. The soundtrack
used in the trailer was also praised for being creepy and fitting to the current
scenes that took place in the trailer.
6. Teacher Feedback (Trailer)
Our original trailer had little to no effects which
didn’t help emphasize the importance of the plot
as well as the characters shown in the trailer
even the major ones. We had reflected on this
and had added special effects particularly in the
scenes of the killer to represent a sense of
dominance as well as raise the audience’s fear to
the point of it being spine chilling. Moreover, the
scene transitions were a bit dull and lacked
suspense so we had a fade in and out effect in
order to make the suspense more effective which
is another example of an Enigma Code.
