Black Veil Brides Presentation Transcript

  • 1. Black Veil Brides Black Veil Brides is an American rock band based in Hollywood, California. The group is composed of Andy Biersack (lead vocals), Ash Purdy (bass, backing vocals), Jake Pitts (lead guitar), Jinxx (rhythm guitar, violin) and Christian "CC" Coma (drums). Black Veil Brides are known for their use of black makeup and body paint, tight black studded clothing, and long hair, which was inspired by Kiss' and Mötley Crüe's stage persona, as well as numerous other 1980s glam metal
  • 2. Andy Biersack Early life and education He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Chris and Amy Biersack. They moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, when Biersack was at an early age. For his early education, Biersack attended a Catholic elementary school, which he has spoken of in many interviews.[citation needed] Andy was the target of bullying at school, being called "faggot" and "emo"; this bullying is re-enacted in the "Knives and Pens" music video.[citation needed] In high school, Biersack attended Cincinnati's School for Creative and Performing Arts, and majored in drama and vocal music. He left school before graduating to move to Los Angeles to further his potential career, six days after he turned 18. He took vocal training before recording Set the World on Fire to improve what he could do with his voice.
  • 3. Andy Biersack (Continued) At age 14, Biersack and a few of his friends formed their first band, called "Biersack" (although they only played one show). Andy Biersack took their CDs with him to school and handed them out to everyone he knew.[citation needed] This project eventually grew into what would later be known as Black Veil Brides. In September 2009 Black Veil Brides signed with the independent label Stand By Records. The writing process for a tour and a record began immediately. In December 2009, the band embarked on their first US tour, titled "On Leather Wings".The group's debut album We Stitch These Wounds was released July 20, 2010 and sold over 10,000 copies in its first week, ranking at No. 36 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, and No. 1 on the Billboard Independent chart. The band's second studio album, Set the World on Fire was released on June 14, 2011 through Lava Music/Universal Republic Records.
  • 4. Jake Pitts Pitts was born in Idaho, United States to Mark and Carolyn Pitts. He also has an older sister Sarah Pitts Lowry, who has two children Aiden and Minka. He received his first guitar when he was 10 years old, but he put it away and didn't play it until 3 years later. He picked it back up when he began listening to Metallica, because he wanted to recreate their sound. He learned music and harmony theory from his mother, who was a classical pianist and composer. He is also influenced musically by rock and heavy metal artists such as Metallica, Van Halen, Scorpions, All That Remains, Buckethead, Paul Gilbert and Avenged Sevenfold. Before joining Black Veil Brides, he played lead guitar in a band called Perfect Victim. He is a certified recording engineer and went to Los Angeles Recording School in 2006.
  • 5. Jinxx Jeremy Miles Ferguson (born January 7, 1986 in Webster City, Iowa), is an American guitarist, pianist, and violinist, best known for being in the American rock band Black Veil Brides. He joined Black Veil Brides in mid-2009 when Andy Biersack was reforming his band in Hollywood, California. He has also played in the bands The Dreaming, Amen, Team Cybergeist, and The Drastics. He got his first guitar when he was two, and started playing live shows with his father at the age of eight. He is heavily influenced by classical music and classical composers, such as Bach and Beethoven. The first album he ever owned was Metallica's fourth album, ...And Justice for All, and he learned every track from start to finish. He and fellow Black Veil Brides guitarist Jake Pitts won Revolver Magazine's Golden Gods Award for "Best Guitarists 2012"
  • 6. Christian "CC" Coma Christian Coma was born April 21 between 1984 or ‘85 in Los Angeles, California. Though he likes to say "I am an old man". Seriously? 25 is not old Christian! His favorite color is green, so if you decide to make him something with color, you know he will love the green! Christian’s favorite drink is Wild Cherry Pepsi, which is the bomb! During Christian’s free time he likes to hang out at the beach, spend time with his friends, and watch his favorite shows such as, Family Guy, Entourage, Curb Your Enthusiasm and more! He has been playing drums for quite a while at a whopping 17 years! Christian started out as a jazz drummer making him a classically trained musician! His greatest musical influences have been Pendulum, Deadmau5, As I Lay Dying, In Flames, and Rise Against. He will listen to pretty much anything making some of his genre influence jazz, metal, trance, electronica, rap, and more. • 7. Christian “CC” Coma (Continued) He actually has known them for awhile and even played with them a couple of times making this journey come pretty easy for him. Him and Sandra have even became good friends now as we have all come to see. So far he has been so happy to meet all of his fans saying "the response from the fans has been unreal!" Christian can not wait to meet the rest of you, so don’t be shy, say hi, and you might get yourself a hug or more!
