As a teacher, lesson objectives are important in our teaching. Lesson objectives help us to plan
our lesson and delivery our lesson effectively depending on how well our students can
understand us.
As a teacher teaching Mathematics in Secondary School – Year 7, I have to know the content of
the subject or lesson that I am going to teach that day. I have to be well prepared and ready at
all time before entering to the classroom. I must also ensure that I am always there to assist
my students whenever they have any difficulties in the subject matter.
Secondly, I must engage all my students to participate in the lesson, either in group or
individual. In order to ensure students to participate in my class, I will form students together
into small group where each student is to come out with their solution then present the group
information to the other students in the class.
Thirdly, I will measure students learning progress where I will normally give students a short
test every time we have completed a topic to help me evaluate students understanding on that
particular topic. By giving students short test will acknowledge me the level of students
understanding, the strength and weakness of every each individual student.

Lastly but not least, to have a good lesson objectives, we as a teacher need to evaluate
ourselves whether or not we did achieve our lesson objectives. We should always seek for
help or assistance from other teachers to improve ourselves or even gather information from
the internet or other resources.
