  • 2. Arizona School of Dental and Oral Health <ul><li>Held a PASS Dinner-N-Learn in April with a guest speaker from the ADEA PASS program. This will be a biannual event with another occurring in October-November 2008 </li></ul>
  • 3. UCLA <ul><li>We are very proud to announce the conception of UCLA’s first ADEA Student Chapter. </li></ul><ul><li>Currently in the midst of completing on-line video tutorials of Operative and Fixed Prosthodontics preparations completed and narrated by clinical instructors </li></ul>
  • 4. Southern Illinois <ul><li>Membership drive planned </li></ul><ul><li>PASS presentation in the planning </li></ul>
  • 5. University of Detroit Mercy <ul><li>Created a traveling program to local universities to get undergrad students excited about dental school </li></ul><ul><li>organized mid semester course reviews </li></ul>
  • 6. Nebraska <ul><li>speakers on dental education </li></ul><ul><li>planning on having a learning session of how to have a proper CV and how to fill out PASS </li></ul>
  • 7. Minnesota <ul><li>Held “ADEA Lunch Presentations” </li></ul><ul><li>Have obtained official &amp;quot;student group status&amp;quot; through the university and have a bank account </li></ul><ul><li>Started Ethics Club </li></ul>
  • 8. Marquette <ul><li>Featured in school’s newsletter </li></ul><ul><li>are selling raffle tickets to win a trip to Ireland as part of a school-wide project to raise money for organizations </li></ul><ul><li>Trying to implement an Ethics Club </li></ul>
  • 9. UCSF <ul><li>Annual High School Outreach Conference (HSOC), on April 26, 2008. This conference was in its 5th year </li></ul><ul><li>Kids at UCSF Day is an expansion of Take Our Daughters to Work Day, a national program for 10 years put on to ameliorate the negative affects of sex role stereotyping on girls. </li></ul>
  • 10. Loma Linda <ul><li>-An overview of the conference was presented in their didactic course. </li></ul>
  • 11. Oregon Health Sciences University <ul><li>After a discussion on integrity and professionalism in dental schools, a fifteen minute discussion was held on issues discussed at the Annual Session including, boards, mandatory PGY1 and integrity councils </li></ul>
  • 12. UNLV <ul><li>Boy Scout Merit Badge Day </li></ul><ul><li>planning for our 3rd annual Dental School Simulation Courses (our last ones were in June and were awesome--150+ participants from 20+ universities). </li></ul>
  • 13. Pacific University <ul><li>Initiated selective course to introduce Boards Part I to first years. Gave overview of boards, study tips, and had panel of students for Q&amp;A session </li></ul><ul><li>Sponsored big sibling simulation lab event for 2nd years to help 1st years prepare for their first operative practical. </li></ul>

USC <ul><li>a survival guide </li></ul><ul><li>The DH representative is writing up an article to be published in the ADHA magazine </li></ul><ul><ul><li>1) ADEA membership and benefits, </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>2) encouraging education in ethics on various dental hygiene campuses nationwide </li></ul></ul>
  • 15. Washington <ul><li>mission statement </li></ul><ul><li>new positions/descriptions/requirements for chapter leadership </li></ul><ul><li>hosted an ADEA orientation for the class of 2012 during lunch on their first day on campus </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Everyone brought their laptop to sign up </li></ul></ul>
  • 16. Howard University <ul><li>Working with our Dean to improve the curriculum </li></ul><ul><ul><li>3 focus groups were be held in June comprised of students, faculty, staff and administration </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Had PASS Lunch and Learn </li></ul>
  • 17. University of Pittsburgh <ul><li>Presentation on the Pass application process </li></ul><ul><li>- Peter Storandt from the national office presented to the third year class </li></ul><ul><li>Second annual Wet Lab Survival Caddy sale </li></ul><ul><li>- For incoming first years </li></ul>
