I was involved in the preparation of major cases for surgery under general anaesthesia and also assisting them. It also included taking part in the diagnosis and treatment planning for Orthognathic surgery, management of benign and malignant tumours, cleft lip and palate repair and management of facial trauma. I was first on call during this period. The main bulk of the cases of the unit comprised of Trauma & Orthognathic surgeries along with management of benign cysts and tumours. I also had a routine list of dentoalveolar surgeries to be performed under LA. The unit also had a particular interest in implants involving ITI Straumann and IMZ systems. March 1999 – May 2000 On completion of my post graduation, I joined back the department as a lecturer.
