  • 3. Foreward . . . The Levin Group, Inc., recently worked with a surgical practice that had acquired SIM/Plant™ technology, a new treatment plan- ning software. Within one year, the number of implant referrals had increased more than 300 percent, making the practice one of the foremost implant specialty groups in the United States. When asked why they thought their referrals had increased so dramatically, the surgeons credited SIM/Plant™ completely! It was obvious to them that many of their own referring doctors had been uncomfortable with implant dentistry and that SIM/Plant™ has proven to be an ideal tool for creating a confident implant referral base. Because each case worked out just as predicted by SIM/Plant™ technology, restorative doctors began to refer in even greater numbers. Since then, this referral pattern has continued and implant dentistry has become a normal component of many of these restorative offices. 3

However, probably notechnology offers more advancement in the ability to properlytreatment plan cases than SIM/Plant ™ . SIM/Plant ™ is areformatted CAT (CT) scan technology that allows for exactpredictability of implant placement in the bone. As you will seein this booklet, using SIM/Plant ™ results in immediatepractice growth. Some of the benefits of SIM/Plant™ are the following: • INCREASED CASE ACCEPTANCE • IMPROVED COST EFFECTIVENESS • COMPLETE CASE PREDICTABILITY • REDUCED OVERHEAD • INCREASED REFERRALS • EDUCATIONAL/MARKETING TOOL • HIGH RETURN ON INVESTMENT • FOR DOCTORS AND PATIENTS The following sections provide background and supplemental information that clearly show the benefits of SIM/Plant™.The Growing Fieldof Implants Implant dentistry achieved popularity in the mid- implant cases solved. SIM/Plant™enables positive results, which not only improvethe doctor’s success rate, but lead to satisfiedpatients. In addition, it is frustrating for implant sur-geons who are excited about using implant den-tistry as a quality-of-life-enhancing technique tohelp their patients when they realize that manyrestorative doctors choose not to perform or referimplant cases. Every restorative doctor has heard horror stories about implant cases gone bad. They fear implantunpredictability following surgery. A great deal of the responsibility then falls on the restorative dentist anddental laboratory to find a way to restore the case, which requires them to rediagnose the case. SIM/Plant™eliminates the need for rediagnosing cases. Restorative doctors who use SIM/Plant™ no longer experience unpredictability in their case planning or restoration. Restorative doctors quickly realize that the implants will be placed exactly where they are planned. SIM/Plant™ An Easy, Cost-Effective Investment In an overview of new technologies, SIM/Plant™ ranks near the top in providing the highest return on invest- ment of any technology available to both specialty and general practices involved in implant dentistry today. Once the site for placement of each implant has been diagnosed, the quantity and quality of the bone must also be thoroughly evaluated. Traditional radiographical examination of bone is not sufficient to properly diagnose the placement of implants. Only SIM/Plant™ technology ensures an absolutely predictable and accurate result. With SIM/Plant™ the most difficult part of implant dentistry becomes simple. 13
  • 14. Summary . . . As described in the preceding pages, the benefits of SIM/Plant™ are immeasurable. If you are interested in becoming more involved in implant dentistry, SIM/Plant™ is not an option - it is a necessity. The old adage, “A picture is worth a 1,000 words,” has never been more true. But SIM/Plant™ is more than just a visual tool. It allows for complete diagnosis and treatment planning throughout the entire implant case. Never before has there been a tool that takes specialists and general dentists from step one of the implant process to the final stage with the accuracy and predictability of SIM/Plant™.
