  • 2. Blessed are those who arepersecuted because ofrighteousness, for theirs isthe kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:10
  • 3. If the world hates you, keep in mindthat it hated me first. If youbelonged to the world, it would loveyou as its own. As it is, you do notbelong to the world, but I havechosen you out of the world. That iswhy the world hates you. John 15:18-19
  • 4. Blessed are you when people insultyou, persecute you and falsely sayall kinds of evil against you becauseof me. Rejoice and be glad, becausegreat is your reward in heaven, forin the same way they persecutedthe prophets who were before you. Matthew 5:11-12
  • 5. The ultimate purpose of theuniverse, with human beings at itscentre, is to return joy to God. Exposition of Divine Principle 1:3.1
  • 6. We also glory in our sufferings, becausewe know that suffering producesperseverance; perseverance, character;and character, hope. And hope does notput us to shame, because God’s love hasbeen poured out into our heartsthrough the Holy Spirit, who has beengiven to us. Romans 5:3-5
  • 7. Live such good lives among thepagans that, though they accuse youof doing wrong, they may see yourgood deeds and glorify God on theday he visits us. 1 Peter 2:12
  • 8. God only made individuals suffer so theywill repent. The greater the persecutionand suffering, the greater the blessingthat will follow. Persecution will make yourepent from the very beginning, and yourperseverance through that suffering willbe a source of reward in heaven. This iswhy God allows our persecution...
  • 9. By receiving persecution from the established churches and communities, you are buying the right to undertake the cause of the Unification Church yourself. By persecuting us they are selling their right to repent in their place. You have to see thispoint and be grateful.
