  1. 1. Weather In Costa RicaCosta Rica is a small country situated north of the equator. It experiences a diverse and wide-rangingtemperate tropical climate manifested by two seasons , the dry and the wet. Though this country isaround the vicinity of the equator, Costa Rica has no real winter or summer period, and it is sunnythere most of the time. The sun rises earlier at around five am, and usually sets about 6 pm hoursconstantly the whole time of the year, which makes up almost 12 hours of sunshine every day.The dry period in Costa Rica is actually believed to be during the several weeks of Decemberthroughout April. Costa Rica encounters little or no rain only at that period. Meanwhile the wet seasonis during the months of might to November, which has a temperature of twenty one to 27 levelsCelsius or 70 to 80 levels Fahrenheit. The country encounters heaviest rainfall mainly duringSeptember as well as October.Costa Rica is divided into six climatic zones: north Zone, Central area , North Pacific, main Pacific,South off-shore , and Caribbean. The variety of elevations at which some other part of the country islocated s the reason for the diversity within Costa Ricas weather.Northern Zone is the countryside part of the area , which is quite less populated that includes theprovinces of Guanacaste, Alajuela and Limon. The higher parts of this area have an averagetemperature of about mid to higher teens Celsius, as the lower parts have mid to higher 20s Celsiusthroughout every season. Rainfall in the lowland averages to regarding 100 inches, whereas in themountains it is about 140 inches.Central area region includes the provinces of San Jose, Cartago, Heredia and Alajuela. The climatein this area runs from warm to dry to damp and chilly that will depend on where you are situated. Thehigh elevations such as on the foothills of the Poas Volcano that averages to a temperature of 17.4degrees Celsius or 62 levels Fahrenheit. The rain fall in this side of the valley is 127 inches yearround.North Pacific includes part of the province of Guanacaste, the western section of Alajuela, and thenorth section of the Puntarenas Province. This area is considered to be the sunniest region andsomething of the most visited because of its amazing beaches. NOrth Pacific experiences annualtemperature of twenty-eight degrees Celsius or 82 degrees Fahrenheit.The coastal area of Central off-shore includes parts of the provinces of Puntarenas and San Jose, aswell as the beaches Jaco, Dominical, Uvita, as well as Quepos. This area usually has an averageheat of 32 levels Celsius throughout the year. The dry season finishes from January to March, whichmakes el born area experience very comfortable temperature until the 30 days of May.The South Pacific area includes the parts associated with Puntarenas.
