Cincinnati Catfishing Bait Cincinnati Catfishing Bait Document Transcript

    • Cincinnati Catfishing BaitSome of the baits I have used for used for CATFISHing here on the Ohio River are usually , chickenliver, minnows, shrimp, Spam, people from france Fries and more.Fresh chicken liver increases results than frozen liver that has thawed away. It does get gnawshowever, cats peck at it so by the time you select up the rod they have cleaned the bait off the hook.My experience may be the fish swallows the particular bait more often than getting hooked. Thebiggest drawback will be keeping the bait on the hook when casting from the lender. Trying to get alengthy cast with chicken liver is very challenging. It seems like the rest the liver will certainly just flyoff the particular hook with any forceful cast. This is no problem if you are doing some fishing from aboat, merely flip it out as well as feed it line so the current may take it away from the boat for you.Spam will get bites however is even harder to cast from the bank. Three out of four cast is able to seethe bait proceed flying in the oxygen before the line strikes the water.Shrimp works well for it does have a fragrance to it and keeps on the hook when casting from thelender. You normally have in order to get the shrimp when its on sale and freeze it. Then get it outthe night before you fish to allow it to thaw out.Minnows are good for there are so many fish that will give food to on them beside catfish. So even ifthe cats are not biting you could get a perch, striper , stripper or a whitened bass.Yes! i did say French fries as bait! ive caught channel cats up river as well as right in the downtownCincinnati area on people from france FRIES. I did examine posting from a person that caught a largeFlathead about fries by among the restaurants on the water in Newport Ky. Any fast food place thatsells fries works. If possible select some up when heading to your area so they are on the warm side. That enables the grease to have into the water to make a scent trail easier.I had positive results in February 04 using chunks regarding steak for bait. I caught 8 bluecats with it,largest being 13 weight. It did not matter whether it was raw or perhaps grilled with seasoning. So ifyou have some scratches left over from a cookout just put it in a tiny freezer bag. When you have afriend that works well in a restaurant which includes steak, ask them to produce up doggie bag ofscraps for you personally. It stays on the hook very well when casting and the seafood have a hardtime just pecking it off the hook. All of those eight seafood were hooked, probably none swallowed it.So i was able to released them to grow bigger for the following season. This past summer I was able to use a casting internet to get some gizzard and thinfin shad for bait. These kinds of fish die really quickly. So I merely cut them upward for bait. Skipjack is a great baitwhen you can get them. Around Cincinnati they can be caught on a rod and reel in the drop. Otherthan that the only place I know with regard to skipjack year round may be the power plant atAberdeen Ohio. Ive some frozen minimize skipjack from last Fall to start off this season.July 19 2002 I caught 2 Channel Cats close to 2 1/2 pounds. Using the skin coming from friedchicken. That says on the hook for casting o.K. Had three other bites nevertheless they stripped offthe bait. Im not sure if huge cats bite onto it. Just started using it today. So when your family is doneeating their own chicken dinner put the scraps of skin in a small zip secure bag in the fridge till you go
    • doing some fishing.ALso learnd in July 2003 coming from another Catfisherman concerning Chicken nuggets with regardto bait. He had already been telling me about this a couple time this summer. The other 7 days I sawyour pet actually catch a 5 lb. ROute cat out of the water using chicken nuggets. He turn to me andsaid that was the smallest one of your day. He had landed five other cats before that morning as wellas released them. He had stopped at wendys and picked up a 6 nugget serving that morning. He wasquoted saying he has used other companies nuggets previously.I hope you get the opportunity to try out some of these baits this season.
