2011 You Are Here @ Your Library Teen Summer Reading Program 2011 You Are Here @ Your Library Teen Summer Reading Program Presentation Transcript

    • Alhambra Civic Center Library Teen Summer Reading Program 2011
    • What is You are Here?
      • You are Here @Your Library is a six-week summer reading program.
      • Participating teens will read one hour a day and report once a week on what they read.
      • Each week, participants who report will earn a prize and receive a raffle ticket to win an additional prize for that week’s raffle.
      • NOTE: Attending a program and/or submitting a book review will earn you extra raffle tickets.
    • How to Sign Up
      • You must have a valid Alhambra Civic Center Library Card. If you don’t have one, you need to fill out an application at the Circulation desk and show an ID with a proof of address. The library card is FREE if this is your first card. If not, it costs $2 to get a replacement.
      • Sign up at the Teen Reference Desk in the Teen Center and receive your reading log.
      • Or sign up on the Teen Site
      • Registration begins on
      • June 13, 2011
    • What is a Reading Log?
      • When you register, you will be handed a reading log where you will record what books you read week-to-week. It also lists all of the weekly events.
      • It is your responsibility to bring it each time you report. Once you report, a librarian will record what you read and give you a prize & a raffle ticket for that week’s raffle.
      • If you lose, or forget your log, no sweat! We will give you a new one and you can just fill out what you attended and read again.
      • If you feel like getting an extra ticket for a weekly raffle, you can fill out a book review form or attend that week’s event.
      • REMEMBER: To enter the GRAND PRIZE Raffle, you must complete all four weeks of reporting.
    • What is Reporting?
      • Easy! All you have to do is summarize your book into three little words and receive a raffle ticket! If you feel compelled to use more than three words, please go ahead and share! Make sure to write them down in your reading log and show the librarian at the Teen Reference Desk.
      • Teens can only report once a week .
      • Extra weekly raffle tickets will be given to those who attend an event and/or submit a book review.
