Since your employees will represent your company and, therefore, you, making sure that your employees are responsible, professional and dependable is very important.

  • 2. Running a small business successfully includes manyaspects, and one major area that you will need to payspecial attention to is your employee base. Since youremployees will represent your company and, therefore,you, making sure that your employees are responsible,professional and dependable is very important.@masterbizcoach

No matter how good your employees are, if theybecome frustrated and their morale drops, you willquickly find that it effects how your business is run.Unhappy and dissatisfied employee will not do a goodjob. You will need to make sure that your employees aremotivated and satisfied. Here are five tips on how tomake this happen.@masterbizcoach
  • 4. 1. Be available and approachable. As a boss andbusiness owner, you will need to make sure that youremployees can come to you with good news and bad. Ifyou continue to be approachable, your employees willknow that they can talk to you. They will feel safeventing their frustrations instead of working underduress of fear or intimidation.@masterbizcoach
  • 5. 2. Show that you appreciate them. There are plenty ofways to exhibit employee appreciation. You can offerspecial appreciation days that include a casual dresscode, or a special party. You can also take youremployees to dinner as a company on occasion.@masterbizcoach
  • 6. 3. Reward excellent work. More than likely, you arealready offering annual reviews of each of youremployees. While this is the perfect time to addressproblematic behavior, it is also a great time to motivateyour employees. You can offer bonuses for excellentwork. The bonuses to not have to be inordinately large.Even small bonuses mean a great deal to an employee.You can also approach criticism in a constructive way,while making sure to include compliments as well.@masterbizcoach
  • 7. 4. Recognize that your employees are not robots. Thismeans you should make sure to include enoughvacation and leave time so that your employees will notfeel as if they are being worked into the ground. Inaddition, recognizing that your employees need time offat holidays shows that you care about their personallives. Employees will notice when their boss is kindenough to give them time of to be with their families.@masterbizcoach
  • 8. 5. Finally, know when an employee should bepromoted. You cannot neglect hard work, and youcannot expect an employee to continually be happystaying in the same place. You will need to give eachemployee a chance for success by providing promotionswhen they are deserved.@masterbizcoach
