  • Massive earthquake damage.
    • A massive earthquake has hit center Chile and killed at least  214 people and caused widespread damage, destroying building,and roads in many areas. Electricity, water and phone lines were cut.
  • many countries sustains damage from tsunami.
    •   In French Polynesia waves 1.8 m high swept ashore, but there were not damage.

    • In Hawaii, Tahiti and NZ, residents in coastal areas were warmed to move to higher ground. 
  • the  biggest to hit Chile in 50 years
    • the earthquake struck at 115 km north east of the city of Concepcion and 325 km south west of the capital Santiago.
    • many people dead in the regions of Santiago,O'Higgins, Biobio,
    • Araucania and Valparaiso. 
    • And A major bridge at Concepcion had collapsed into the Biobio river. so rescue teams are difficult to reach Concepcion.

    • In Santiago, where at least 13 people were killed, several building collapsed including a car park where dozens of cars were smashed.A fire at a chemical plant in outskirts of the capital forced the evacuation of the neighbourhood.
