  • 1. The town ofRadomir is locatedin the south-western part ofBulgaria. Radomiris in a valley at thefoot of the mountainGolo Bardo.Radomir is near thecapital of Bulgaria –Sofia.
  • 2. The town coversan area of 506sq.km. Itspopulation is16,254inhabitants. It isthe secondlargest town inPernik region.
  • 3. Radomir is a medieval town built over prehistoric,ancient settlement and a necropolis. Manypeople from the city took part in Russo-TurkishWar and Balkan Uprising.
  • 4. In 1918 the town became the centre of RadomirSoldiers Uprising. On September 27, 1918 forthe first time Bulgaria was proclaimed arepublic.
  • 5. Today Radomir is a modern city with its appearance,economic infrastructure, natural attractions and cultural institutions.
  • 6. On the territory of Radomir is the Nature Reserve"Ostritsa." It has a great variety of plant and animalspecies.
  • 7. One of the landmarks is the waterfall “Buchaloto", located in thenorth-eastern part of the city. Thewaterfall is with a height of 10 - 12 m. It is great for relaxation and walks.
  • 8. In the museums Soldiers Uprising andStoyo’s house wecan find preservedold utensils, jewelleryand weapons.
  • 9. Radomir is known for its arch, built in 1879 inhonour of Prince Alexander Battenberg. Today, itgraces the city since its restoration in 2006. 2006 1879
