  • After you have archived a message and left a summary, follow these steps to open the message from its original folder: 1. Click on the folder in which the message was originally stored (such as Inbox ). Any archived messages with summaries will appear with a torn page icon in the Attachments column. 2. Click on the message. This will open the summary. 3. To open the full message in its archive, click the Open in Archive button in the action bar above the message.
  • With Lotus Protector, you can view and manage a list of company-blocked senders, add your own personally-blocked senders, or choose to allow certain blocked senders' mail. To view and manage your spam settings, expand the Spam protection section in the navigation pane of you mail. It's just displaying web pages inside the Notes client. I believe that future versions will (could) be implemented using Xpages so the experience will be more seamless. The administrator sets an ini variable to point to the right Protector server (mine says "$PROTECTOR_LOCATION=194.153.113.41:4443". When they do that, the Protector items show up on the user's client.. The user has to log in the first time (I think), and from then on, it all just works. :) Oh, and along with this, the old block mail feature has been reworded to be more accurate: "Deliver Sender's Mail to Junk."
  • and the file is based on the name field. For example, Samantha Daryn's vCard file name is Daryn_Samantha.vcf.
  • Once you have created a vCard, you can also use these steps to change your vCard information and replace the existing version with a new updated vCard. Click File > Preferences , and then expand the Mail preferences and click the Signature tab. Click Append My vCard . Note: If you previously added a vCard file to your signature manually, the information in the manually added card is included in the vCard form that opens. Add or change information in any of the fields. Click Append vCard to Signature . To move the vCard file to a location other than following your signature, cut and paste it to the new location.
  • Note: To view business cards from the type-ahead list in Mail, the preference "Disable type-ahead for all name fields and use the Notes Basic type-ahead" must not be checked. This preference is located in the Basic Notes Client Configuration section of your preferences.
  • Sametime meetings = new sametime Lotuslive meetings = Unyte Sametime Classic Meetings = Sametime before version?
  • Yes, the is actually where the old Sametime meeting info went, and yes this is how the old sametime attand a meeting workd (the introductoin of Unyute/lotuslive was the problem) And YES all the info is repeated below in the body and we’re trying to get that removed by the time we ship.
  • -- The Widgets preference panel (File > Preferences > Widgets) now has a browse button/capability for the catalog server and database fields, simplifying the task of specifying the target server on which the widgets catalog resides. -- The Start Configuring Widgets wizard dialog (click Getting Started with Widgets in the toolbar or My Widgets sidebar panel) now contains a 5th option -- Features and Plugins. This option launches a new wizard sequence designed to simplify the process of creating a Notes client plug-in deployment widget, a process currently documented in the "Deploying client plug-ins with widgets and the widget catalog" section of Domino Administrator help at http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/domhelp/v8r0/index.jsp. The wizard guides you through the widget definition process, prompting for the updatesite in which that target plug-in resides. After selecting the plug-in you want, entering the name, image url, and description for the widget, and reviewing the manifest used for the widget, the wizard will created the widget and install the plug-in. You can then export or publish the widget. -- The new My Widgets sidebar panel toolbar contains the following options: Catalog browse button -- This opens the widget catalog directly. Show button -- This toggles My Widgets sidebar panel palette items between a Thumbnail view or a Details view. In the Details view, you can sort by Title or Type. The selected view state is remembered when you restart Notes. Type to find -- This field filters My Widgets sidebar panel palette items based on what you type. -- A widget property can be automatically resolved to the current user's name or the current date; description of this new capability is as follows: To have a widget property contain the current user's name you can configure a property to be in this format: $name:nameType$ where "nameType" is the type of name being resolved using DN format. For example: $name:cn$/$name:ou$/$name:o$ will resolve to "CommonName/OrganizationlUnit/Organization". For example: $name:dn$ will resolve to the user's full distinguished name. To have a widget property contain the current date you can configure a property to be in this format: $date:dateformat$ where "dateformat" is a java data format. For example: $date:yyyy MM DD$ will resolve to the current date (in this example it resolved to "2009 03 20"). Example use cases: A. You can create a widget that searches google.com for the current user's name. You would set the q property in the widget to $name:cn$. When you launch the widget, it will search google.com for the current user's name. B. You can create a widget that uses the Notes filter command to filter a Notes view for a specific user: notescmd:filter||Notes://yourserver/yourdatabase/MainFrameset?OpenFrameset. The will become a property for which you can set the value to $name:cn$. When opening the widget, it will filter the view based on the current user's name. -- The Notes widget creation wizard has been enhanced to simplify the widget creation process based on the current context. -- The Configure a Widget panel now contains a Basic tab and an Advanced tab. When you select "Wire as an action" on the Basic tab, you can choose a widget property to be wireable. Use the Advanced tab to create more than one property to wire and optionally set a default for each wireable property. -- The widget configuration wizards now contains an "Add as an engine to the Search Center" option to specify that the widget context be added as a search engine in the Notes toolbar Search list. -- A public widget catalog was recently released on the Lotus Greenhouse site. For widget samples, see the public widgets catalog at https://greenhouse.lotus.com/plugins/plugincatalog.nsf and the Notes and Domino wiki at http://www.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf.
  • This option launches a new wizard sequence designed to simplify the process of creating a Notes client plug-in deployment widget, a process currently documented in the "Deploying client plug-ins with widgets and the widget catalog" section of Domino Administrator help at http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/domhelp/v8r0/index.jsp. • -- The widget configuration wizards now contains an "Add as an engine to the Search Center" option to specify that the widget context be added as a search engine in the Notes toolbar Search list.
  • To enable the new spell check engine The new spell check engine is enabled by default in CD7. Remove SPELL_FORCE_LEGACY=0 from your notes.ini file if you have this setting. To revert back to the legacy version of spell check, add SPELL_FORCE_LEGACY=1 to your notes.ini file. New autocorrect Spell Check preferences To specify which common typing errors you want to correct automatically, open Spell Check preferences and select any of the following options under Instant Corrections: Use a replacement table to correct typical misspellings - When you type a letter combination that has a match in the replacement table, the text is replaced with the replacement text from the table. For example, "teh" is replaced with "the." Capitalize first letter of every sentence - Capitalizes the first letter of every sentence. Correct two initial capitals - When you type two uppercase letters at the beginning of a word, such as "WOrd" the second uppercase letter is automatically replaced with a lowercase letter.
  • You can launch and run XPages on the Notes client. Some setup is required before you can run XPages, and you need to install both the Notes and the Domino Designer clients. To launch an application with an XPage on the Notes client, specify it on the Launch tab for Applications Properties in Domino Designer or via the InfoBox Launch properties on the client .
