    • Have very sensitive skin
    • Sunburn easily
    • Internal organs and skin close resemblance to human

    • Used in research to simulate human reactions/responses
    • Skin used for skin graphs on people
    • Have 1 ¼ inch fat layer under skin
  • 4. Swine
    • Can become very aggressive if they feel threatened or have young
    • Biggest threat is their teeth
    • Nose is very sensitive and can smell their favorite delicacy, earthworms, underground and root up
  • 5. Swine
    • Having their litter of pigs is called farrowing
    • Piglets will have their teeth (tusks) nipped to keep then from becoming razor sharp
    • Piglets usually have their tails docked or the other piglets may bite them off
  • 6. Swine
    • Identification is usually done by ear notching
    • Right ear – litter number
    • Left ear – pig number
