  • 9. Using strategies like LINK BUILDING and SYNDICATING CONTENT to improve your rankings.
  • 10. One of the things you can do for your SEO is pick STRONG + RELEVANT keywords.
  • 11. Don’t be afraid to be afraid to build off your COMPETITION. Don’t go OVERBOARD! Keep it CONSISTENT. There are TONS of free tools out there to help you pick your keywords. We like: Keyword Spy, SEM Rush, Google Search-Based Keyword Tool and Power Verb List.
  • 12. You don’t want to build your SEO strategy on a Weak Foundation. Following Website Can help solve that problem.
  • 13. Have a clear HIERARCHY and TEXT LINKS. Try to use text rather than IMAGES Make sure your <title> and ALT tags are DESCRIPTIVE (and accurate). BIG HINT: Try reading Google’s Webmaster Guidelines first, it’s a great place to get started.
  • 14. A big part of SEO is your site structure. A strong site structure is what makes up a strategy.

  • 16. Stale content is a surefire way to KILL YOUR SEO. Smart Marketers know that keeping your content fresh and targeting your keywords is one of the best ways to optimize. (Don’t let your stale content do this to your SEO)
  • 17. It’s important that you keep your content FRESH. Make sure that you have both HTML and XML sitemaps. Content should be KEYWORD - RICH. Free Tools: SeoQuake (keyword density checker), Xenu Link Checker (Build an HTML sitemap), XML Sitemap Generator (Build an XML Sitemap).
  • 18. Link building is an essential aspect of your SEO. Unfortunately, building links is harder than it sounds. But… There are some tricks you can use. A SECRET SAUCE
  • 19. There are basically two “LEGAL” things you can do to get links. 1. Ask your WEBMASTER FRIENDS to link to you. 2. Find websites in your industry and REQUEST LINKS. BONUS TIP: Links from relevant websites that relate to your company hold more weight in search engines (they’re better).
  • 20. Nearly 1 BILLION people look for specific content each day. That’s a lot of potentially relevant TIP: RSS isn’t just for Blogs! Tool: FeedBurner - Permits people to subscribe for regular updates, delivered automatically via a web portal, news reader, or email.

SEO is made up of both on-page and off-page optimization and both are essential for a strong, sustainable strategy. 3. SEO doesn’t start once your website is built. It’s an ongoing process that needs to be a part of every aspect of a website design and build to ensure that your website is optimized from the beginning.
