  3. 3. Fun fact about an NCAAteamHow many NCAA tourney games did UCLAwin in a row from 1964 to 1974?38. The Bruins did not qualify for thetournament in 1966, but won every tournamentgame they played from 1964 to 1973.
  4. 4. More fun factsThe first intercollegiate game was played onFebruary 9, 1895 between Hamline collegeand the Minnesota school of agriculture.Minnesota won, 9-3.Only three schools have more than 2,000 winsall-time: Kentucky, Kansas, and NorthCarolina.
  5. 5. March MadnessMarch Madness is a phenomenon that grips thenational sports psyche from the second week ofMarch through the first week of April. MarchMadness is the moniker that is given to theNational Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)Mens and Womens Basketball Tournaments. These tournaments determine the nationalchampions of college basketball. The NCAAtournaments are an American tradition that sendsmillions of fans into a synchronized frenzy eachyear. Its this chaos that gives the tournament itsMarch Madness nickname. March Madness is theconcentrated hype of 68 teams vying for collegebasketballs biggest prize. Its the last-second,buzzer-beating baskets, the euphoria of winning toplay another day and the agony of losing and goinghome.

  11. 11. How about FGCU!?!?FGCU was definitely the “underdog” of thistournament. Nobody had even heard about thisteam until the beginning of this tournament. Tostart out the tournament, they beat the #2 seedGeorgetown in the first round of the NCAATournament, then beat the #7 seed San Diego St.in the round of 32. Sadly, they lost in the sweet 16against Florida. FGCU had a great run in thetournament especially for a team thats only been adivision 1 team for 2 years!
