  6. 6. 2 Sides <ul><li>GOD </li></ul><ul><li>For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8 </li></ul><ul><li>This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:9-10 </li></ul><ul><li>For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 </li></ul><ul><li>Man </li></ul><ul><li>That if you confess with your mouth, &quot;Jesus is Lord,&quot; and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are save. Romans 10:9-10 </li></ul><ul><li>Jesus answered, &quot;I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.” John 3:5 </li></ul><ul><li>Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling Philippians 2:12 </li></ul>

Man was created a Tripartite <ul><li>Genesis 2:7 </li></ul><ul><li>the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life , and the man became a living being . </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Dust of the ground = Body of man </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Breath of life = spirit of man </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Living being = soul of man </li></ul></ul>
  9. 9. Man has 3 Deaths <ul><li>Death of spirit </li></ul><ul><li>The spirit of man whose main purpose was to be the connection to God was cut-off when Adam sinned. There was a cessation of its communication with God, the spirit of man lost its sensitivity towards God. </li></ul><ul><li>Genesis 2:17 (New International Version) </li></ul><ul><li>but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die. </li></ul>
  10. 10. 3 Deaths …cont’d <ul><li>Death of the flesh </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Ecclesiastes 7:2b (New International Version) </li></ul></ul><ul><li>         for death is the destiny of every man;        the living should take this to heart. </li></ul><ul><li> Job 14:5 (New International Version) </li></ul><ul><li>  Man's days are determined;        you have decreed the number of his months        and have set limits he cannot exceed. </li></ul>

The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. </li></ul>
  12. 12. 3 Stages of Salvation <ul><li>Salvation of man’s spirit </li></ul><ul><li>Justification is a singular act in which God declares an unrighteous individual to become righteous by the death and resurrection of His one and only Begotten Son. Justification is a free gift of God to everyone who applies faith so they can receive His grace. </li></ul><ul><li>Romans 6:23 (New International Version) </li></ul><ul><li>For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is </li></ul><ul><li>eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. </li></ul>
  13. 13. 3 Stages of Salvation … cont’d <ul><li>Salvation of man’s soul </li></ul><ul><li>Sanctification is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit into the life of a believer. This is the process to make holy, to consecrate, to separate from the world, and to set apart from sin so that the saint can continue to have an intimate fellowship with God and serve Him gladly. </li></ul><ul><li>1 Thessalonians 5:23 (New International Version) </li></ul><ul><li>  May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through </li></ul><ul><li>and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept </li></ul><ul><li>blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. </li></ul>
  14. 14. 3 Stages of Salvation … cont’d <ul><li>Salvation of man’s body </li></ul><ul><li>Glorification is the transformation of the body into the resurrected body. </li></ul><ul><li>1 Corinthians 15:42 (Amplified Bible) </li></ul><ul><li>So it is with the resurrection of the dead. [The body] that is sown is perishable and decays, but [the </li></ul><ul><li>body] that is resurrected is imperishable </li></ul><ul><li>(immune to decay, immortal). </li></ul>
