The Hockey Stick Has Just Begun
Advertising in online media
will skyrocket over the next
decade. Companies that
have thrived on traditional
media are looking for
alternative sources that
introduce solid analytics.
Social networking and social
media is prime for tracking
their Return on Investment.
What is SNASM?
SNASM will be developed with advanced new
platform using CakePHP with OpenID and
OAuth for unlimited Scalability, Security, and
DataPortability. We will be the first truly Open
Social Network!
Our users will be able to carry their
social graph with them where ever
they go!
What Makes SNASM Different?
The real world operates on many levels for each individual.
When we work, we play a role in our organization. When we
are home or with our family, our roles and attitudes change.
SNASM will mirror this on a virtual platform so that people can
fulfill all of their online needs and desires from one unique
interface.
It will redefine the portal (such as Yahoo! and AOL), reinvent the
social networking concept (improving on what MySpace and
Facebook have started), and create one social news site that
addresses the problems that plague the current ones (such as
Digg and Propeller).
Is the technology ready yet?
All Features In One Location
How do you login securely?
Do these logos look familiar?
When a visitor is ready to sign in or register
at SNASM, we display the provided RPX
login interface. The sign-in interface helps
the user choose their provider, and then
RPX authenticates the user with their
provider.
Returning visitors will be presented with an
interface tailored to their provider of choice. For
example, if the user has chosen Google! as their
provider they'll be presented with the following
interface next time they return. Once they've
verified their identity, RPX sends the user back to
SNASM with everything we need to sign them in.
OpenID + OAuth =
Portable Authentication
An open protocol to allow secure API authorization in a simple and
standard method from desktop and web applications.
To keep it simple, other sites can talk and share with SNASM!
What do I see once I am in SNASM?
Enter into SNASM and you will find a
clean easy to navigate layout.
Site Announcements, your Personal Bio,
new Blog Posts will greet you!
Once you have scrolled down you will
find all of your daily news sorted and
placed right where you assigned it.
Walled Gardens Are No Longer Cool
Users want to take their identity with them when they travel from
one site to another, such as one screen name and password for all
sites. This is called a decentralized network. But it also creates the
need for a new type of dashboard for the user to see everything
they do. The user must also be able to move cross platform as they
carry their data with out causing duplicate content.
Decentralize Your Network?
With a decentralized network you
need a virtual dashboard.
SNASM will incorporate a
graphical profile to act as your
dashboard.
From SNASM you will be able to
quantum jump from location to
location fast and effectively.
How To Monetize SNASM and Avoid
the Walled Garden?
Many online media companies tried the
walled garden, only to later find that they
were better off letting their content be
syndicated across the thousands of social
aggregators.
Users do not have time to visit all of the sources of news in one day. If
you could share your content with every social media site would more
people view it? Of course they would!
In September 2007 The New York Times stopped
charging for access to parts of its Web site. They also
opened some of their archives to be indexed.
What did they benefit from doing this?
SOCIAL and SEARCH ENGINE TRAFFIC!!!
Fresh Traffic = Ad Dollar$
An open network
allows many more
sources of content
to be found by our
visitors.
What About Competition?
The competition for SNASM will be the social news voting sites. At the
present time there are only about 25 large social news voting sites
that get the publics attention. Currently, there are also over 1000
small social news voting sites.
We are going to compete with each of these sites on the merit that we
have a highly targeted social news voting site hosted on their own
separate subdomain targeting competitive niches.
The concept of having one site divided into subdomains allows highly
targeted users to showcase their works on a larger scale. At the
same time, it allows more diverse social media users to spread their
wings in one location instead of seeking out multiple niche sites.
It’s truly the best of all worlds for social media users at every level.
