  2. How to Make Money Online Using Twitter By Dan Stemen Can you really make money using a social network like Twitter? Yes, but you better know and understand the rules of engagement. Unlike other social media sites like MySpace and Facebook, Twitter allows you to develop a more intimate relationship with your followers in real time. In other words, you and your followers are expressing how you are feeling at that moment of time, which makes it very easy to engage people in a conversation. Here are 3 ways to use Twitter to make money in your online business. 1. Conduct Market Research for your offering in \"real time\". Instead of having to send out a survey or perform a focus group study around your offering, you can simply reach out to people and ask them how they feel right now. This is in stark contrast to the Google platform, which does a good job of telling you what people are \"searching\" but not necessarily telling you want people are thinking. This is so important to understand because people make buying decisions first based on emotion and then justify with logic. Post a \"Tweet\" asking people to give you their feelings on something you want feedback on. It's that easy and you will be surprised to discover that some of those same people will actually end up doing business with you because of the non- threatening approach. 2. Become a Trusted Advisor. If you position yourself as an expert in your niche, then people will naturally come to you because of your perceived authority. It is remarkable how many forum-type websites are available for people looking for honest answers to their questions. Position yourself as a safe landing place and you will very easily gain trust and confidence. Remember, people still buy from people, not from systems, and they only buy from people they trust. 3. Network with like-minded people. This may change in the future, but as of today, Twitter is the only social media where ordinary people can communicate directly with other people of prominence. I recently heard that lance Armstrong was on Twitter giving live updates to his followers on the status of his surgery. Imagine having the ability to reach out and communicate with other people of influence. You can easily accomplish if you keep your conversation with them around the topic they are talking about on their posts. Don't push your offering too hard, just let the conversation flow by engaging them and look for opportunities to move toward a common interest. Did you find this article helpful? Would you like to learn how to dominate your
  3. marketplace using Twitter? If so, then take a look at the step-by-step video tutorials here where you will learn social media skill sets and much more! http://www.TheMaverickMoneyStrategy.com Dan Stemen coaches and consults with entrepreneurs and small business owners, teaching them how to use the power of attraction marketing, technology and proven online business systems to dominate their marketplace. Dan says \"If you want to attract more business into your life then you have to be attractive to others. I can teach you how to quickly and easily brand yourself and become an expert in your field in less than 90 days, guaranteed\" Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Dan_Stemen Twitter - Power Marketing in 140 Characters Or Less By Therese Prentice It doesn't matter whether you are new to online marketing or you are a more seasoned business owner, you are always looking for new ways to network and get

You can jump in the conversation at anytime but always remember to provide something of value. Here are 5 reasons to use Twitter as your Power Marketing Tool of choice... 1. 140 Characters or less Less is more! One of the best things about Twitter is that it keeps all messages short and to the point in 140 characters or less. You'll have to give your customers and clients the gist of what is going on in short messages better known as \"tweets\" (messages similar to instant messages) that allow their interest to be piqued in such a way as to make them want to know more. You don't have to worry about boring your clients or customers, there simply isn't any room for the extra fluff. Instead, you will be able to catch their attention quickly and make them interested in knowing more. 2. All in an Instant... It is a Blog and RSS feed all in one, you can get access to the people that use Twitter seconds after they create the post. Twitter allows its users to connect their account to the cell phone for instant message type interaction. It is much like have a chat but only using 140 characters. You can reach your followers in an instant and they can reply in the next instant no matter where they are, and you will find that this is very important when you want to make marketing one of your biggest priorities. You are making sure that your followers have all of the latest updates about what you are doing and what's going on in your world by simply sending a tweet. 3. Follow the crowd... Twitter is a social network not just for business. People connect with people first and the business will follow. Remember people buy from people they know, like and trust. We are the sum total of all the relationships we have past and present. Be a person of value in the conversations, listen and build your social equity with ease. Your Social Equity is very important when building your online brand. 4. Listen and Learn Listen to the conversations to the others who have something in common with you. Search for people in the search functionality or use a tool called Twitter Search to see what being talked about on Twitter, follow those that you find who are interested in you. Listen first and see what can learn. You will actually learn how to use Twitter by listening. By following others Twitter accounts, especially if they look like they have a lot to offer, you can stay in the know about various products, services, and other activities online and offline. After some bumpy roads & strong growing pains the free service that allows hyper-connectedness & an interesting way to express \"what you're doing\" at any
  6. given time, seems to be on the fast track now to becoming the next mega success story online. Twitter was founded by Evan Williams, who is no rookie to bringing creative ideas to multi-million dollar reality. Evan was a blogging pioneer and has created & grown web properties that have attracted the attention of the big dogs, including Google. One of Evan's past web projects grew to be so huge, in fact, that Google bought him out for a multi million dollar price tag. Rather than reclining on a beach chair & sipping Coronas for the remainder of his life, Evan decided to try his hand again, when he thought up the concept of \"micro- blogging.\" In all our modern day internet hustle & bustle there's come a need for brevity... short, to the point, yet meaningful messages. Evan's idea for Twitter was a service that not only allows people to post short \"micro-blog\" entries (by enforcing a self-created parameter that only allows users a maximum of 140 characters per post), but also helps people stay connected through the use of followers, text messages, and @replies. The Twitter faithful are even coining their own new lingo to describe some of the everyday actions that take place on the site. \"Tweets,\" for example, are the term used to describe each of your short, 140 character or less, posts to update your Twitter profile. In this article the aim is to go over a simple overview of the everyday things you'll need to know in order to get started on Twitter & set yourself up for maximum exposure using this free service. First off, you'll need to go create an account by visiting the site and following the easy to follow prompts for creating a new account. Once you're all setup, be sure to visit the \"Settings\" tab and customize your profile and also enter a short bio, along with the URL to your website. In order to double the chances of getting a click, I'd also recommend including a hyperlink within your bio, in addition to the hyperlink you'll enter in the box for your web URL. The next thing you'll want to do is visit the \"Devices\" tab and get your account setup so that you can send tweets on the go from your mobile phone. The steps for confirming your mobile device to work with Twitter are easy to follow and you'll be up and rolling in no time flat. Once you've got your new account created and have configured your settings & mobile, it's time to start tweeting.
  7. Remember, you'll be limited to 140 characters per message so choose your words wisely. If you'd like to include a hyperlink with your Tweet you should consider shortening it down using a free tool like Tiny URL, or Snip URL. Be careful not to come off as too spammy by including links in every Tweet... get involved with the Twitter community and share some of your daily activities with your followers so you can get a real feel for what it's all about before sucking traffic out... its got to be a give-give relationship! Now, to really get yourself on the fast track and start adding new followers fast, the best advice is to follow people who you find interesting, and single out those who already have a large followership. Tweet regularly and often using your mobile, the Twitter site, and even handy third party applications like \"Twhirl.\" Anytime you see a new Tweet from someone you are following send them an @reply by including the \"@\" sign + their Twitter username in a message responding to their original tweet. By sending users an @reply you'll get their attention, strike up conversations, and best of all - put yourself in the public spotlight so that all of their followers will take notice of you. Before you know it, you'll be addicted to Twitter and will have a massive followership as well! Once you've built a followership it's easy to get visitors to your site by using services like TwitterFeed anytime you post a new blog entry, TweetLater to automatically direct message new followers, and other little known tips & tricks for putting it all on auto-pilot. Twitter is a new revolution in communications and may be the first glimpse at Web 3.0. I recommend getting setup on Twitter today so you can ride this new wave into the future and enjoy it for all it's worth! 8. While some people still say that they just 'don't get' twitter, many hard-core twitter users admit to being a bit addicted to using it. Digg.com is one of the most popular social news networks where users submit articles or news stories and other users 'Digg' them to make them more popular or bury them if they don't like them. When a story gets enough 'Diggs' it can move all the way up to the front page and provide a steady stream of traffic to the author's web site. Twiggit.com is a mashup between these two popular sites, which automatically sends a tweet to your followers on twitter whenever you add a new article on Digg. The resulting post includes the article's title and the URL posted for you on twitter for others to see and click on. For those twitter enthusiasts who have built up a large, active network on twitter and who regularly submit items to Digg, this combo is a win-win. To sign up for Twiggit you simply need to enter your Digg username, your twitter username and password, and your email address. You can set the time increments for when Twiggit checks Digg for new submissions at 5, 10, 30 minutes 1 hour, every few hours or every 24 hours. Here are some tips to make the most of this happy marriage of twitter and Digg: • Network actively with your existing friends and add new friends • Don't Spam. Enough said. • Submit useful comments for the articles/stories that you Digg • Reply to and re-tweet twitter posts that you find useful and worth sharing Using Twiggit will save you time and effort while at the same time you are adding value for your twitter followers and getting increased exposure for your Digg submissions. If they don't come, they won't buy. And if they don't buy-well, you're not much of a marketer; at least you're not a successful marketer.
  9. So every online maven uses every available trick to bring traffic to their websites. I'd like to tell you about one method of brining in the traffic may have been overlooked by many marketers. Twitter. Twitter is a free social networking and mini-blogging application that allows its users to write 140 characters per micro-blog. These updates are sent to all their friends, who are people that are 'following' them, as well as being put out on the public timeline where every Twitter on planet earth can see them. Some people use Twitter as their own personal blog, where they talk about everything from their cats and kids, to the savvy internet marketer who places the url's of their online business offerings in their 'tweets' in order to get those website addresses out in front of as many people as possible. In order for this to work, you must be 'following' a great many people and have a great many people 'following' you as well. If you're following someone on Twitter, it means that you see all of their updates (micro-blog posts) each time they post. The more people you have following you-the better it is for your online endeavors. You can perform searches on Twitter to locate people in a geographical area or by interests. Once you've found someone you want to follow, you go to their Twitter page and click on the word 'follow' underneath their avatar. Some Twitter folk have their updates protected-meaning that the general public is barred from reading their updates. You can request to follow them and an email will be sent to them with your request. Using Twitter as a social networking tool is a great way to get to know people who share your interests-whether they be about the music you like or your brand new eBook that went on sale today-and an excellent way to generate interest and traffic. You can send Twitter updates via your cell phone from tech events or just from your bus while you commute. There are all kinds of add-ons to Twitter that you Social Networking sites like Twitter are best used by creating a following-and following others-in order to foster a relationship with potential clients. Once you build trust by giving them a window in on your world, it's much easier to make them a customer. People tend to buy things from people they trust-and they will discover as they read your Tweets, that you are a trustworthy soul. So in order to funnel more traffic to your website, it's a good idea to use every social networking tool at your disposal and that includes Twitter. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Brian T. 10. Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Brian_Edmondson 10 Common Mistakes Companies Make on Twitter By Mitchell Cogert Twitter Sells! Yes, Twitter is a great tool to sell your products and services. Unfortunately, I see so few companies on Twitter who know how to maximize Twitter to sell. And most companies don't even bother to get on Twitter because they don't understand how it can possibly help them to acquire customers. Social Media Is About Conversations. Every marketing person has heard the expression \"social media is about conversations.\" But do they really know what that means? I did not realize the true
  11. meaning of the word \"conversations\" until I got deeply involved in Twitter. There is a difference between a conversation and a company message. And there is a difference between a conversation and a tweet (what a message is called on Twitter). When it comes to Twitter, there is another problem. You only have room to type in 140 characters. That is your tweet. Just 140 characters. What kind of conversation can you have from a 140 character tweet?! How can I sell people when I have no room to sell? Of course, most companies don't get Twitter. And, they view it as a nice social application but really, who cares \"What you are doing?\" Here are 10 Common Mistakes Companies Make on Twitter 1. Uses a funny or clever name. 2. Uses only their company name. 3. Links their website on their profile. 4. Has tweets that connect to their website. 5. Doesn't post a photo of him or herself. 6. Only tweets about their company. 7. Only tweets about personal stuff. 8. Uses the auto-DM's (direct messages) to new followers. 9. Never works to build a community of like-minded followers. 10. Tweets and runs. Need Help on Using Twitter? Let me teach you how to sell on Twitter. It takes time to use Twitter the right way. But once you do, it will not only add sales to your business but it will also replace some of your more expensive marketing activities. Mitchell Cogert is a marketing strategist to companies of all sizes from Fortune 500 companies P&G and HP, as well as many start-ups. He is currently helping companies to get a better return on their marketing dollars by using social media. Mitchell is the president of the Social Media Network of Infuencers, that allows companies to influcence the influencers in social media. Well not so much the controversy of the two programs themselves, but there general uses in Internet Marketing. Facebook closed the past week with 68 million visitors, while Twitter only 6 million. Which is better for your traffic generation and advertising. This is the controversy. Many internet marketers state that you need to get your articles and advertising onto the most viewed sites: Facebook in this case, while other state it's the quality of the traffic that counts.
  13. Well obviously your content would be viewed more with Facebook, it's a bit easier to see that you may getter better results with twitter. Look at the different type of traffic that is generated by both sites. Facebook is used by 68 million visitors. But most of those people use it to talk with friends, share photos, and stay in touch with their friends, family, and other close ones. A higher percentage of the people viewing your content will pass it on. And advertising on Facebook is almost non-responsive. But it still doesn't mean it's an effective internet marketing source and a good way to start making money online to say the least. However, twitter may cut the time down quite a bit cause of that 6 million viewers, most of them are searching for information on various topics. Exactly what twitter was made for. While Facebook is more of a way to stay in touch, twitter will actually put your online money making media in front of the people that want to see it. Your results will fair a lot better. I'm not saying that you can't use Facebook. But what I'm saying is that you should concentrate more of your time to using twitter, and use a smaller portion on Facebook. Both are good to use, but remember in internet marketing, you want to make 20 % of your action contribute to 80% of your outcome. Think smart and you'll go a lot further online. In order for anybody to build a successful online business you must actually do the things that build your online business. You must actually act, not just talk about it. Great resources on the net provide you with the information needed to succeed. One such good resource can be found here. It is full of information on making your living online.
