  • Three is best than two! We need to give advice to local data managers
  • This slide try to show the French public authorities. Instead of the geography I learned in my Parisian primary school, there is a huge amount of public authorities, and each are independant from the others. In blue, Open Data initiatives.
  • We have to gain metadata leaders on our side and they have to learn Metadata regulation
  • Each PA is in charge of a part of the 10 000 puzzle (cf. Krakow’ conference) Beside usual fight beetwen Local and regional governments As for Adress, we look after road data process Coordination is not top down, but really bottom up The key point is regional level

Since last INSPIRE Conference <ul><li>Transposition is done </li></ul><ul><li>The national structure of coordination is renewed, supported by IGN, the French mapping agency </li></ul><ul><li>Regional coordination is strengthened </li></ul><ul><li>Data sharing joins PSI directive in Open Data movement </li></ul>

Open data surge <ul><li>More and more cities come to Open Data. </li></ul><ul><li>Most of the time, it is based on spatial datasets, </li></ul><ul><li>Sometimes through web services. </li></ul><ul><li>The French Government launches its Open Data policy </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Data.gouv.fr website will open by the end of 2011 </li></ul></ul><ul><li>It should be a consumer of French SDI </li></ul>
