Notes, Tips and General Information
For H.O.W event Barcelona
Pre and Post event visitors: If any of you are planning to arrive before and/or leave after the event. Please consult us if you need ideas and tips about travel , sightseeing, bike rental, accommodation, etc... Please try send enquiries before the event as most of the team will be busy during the event.
Travel Directions from BCN airport (El Prat) : If you are travelling to BCN airport you will find the main train station over the foot bridge. You can buy a single ticket or a multi pass for the weekend. If you are travelling in a group , I suggest you the T10 pass as it comes out way cheaper. If you are travelling by bike, try to assemble it up in the airport terminal and roll it to the train station, believe me it will save you a lot of trouble and they don’t allow carts over the walking bridge.
After entering the train to the city center, get off at Passeig de Gracia and transfer to L4 (yellow line) then take it to direction (La Pau) and get off at Metro stop ((Llacuna) . From outside the top of the metro stop, look within eye distance and you should see one of our interesting bikes and follow the road down. We are located half way down the street and located at number 30 Passatge de Masoliver. We are only 120 meters from the Metro station, so don’t wander to far...hahaha .. I
If you do get lost give one of us a call or message and we will try our best to wind you back in : Philippa: 0034 672862755

FOOD and DRINK : We will plan to have a good supply of food and drink throughout the whole weekend. We have been lucky to have sourced an experienced food/drink manager willing to work for beers, food and “green tea” , haha. To help cover expenses and help ensure continuity during the event we will be selling food and drink lottery tickets (don’t worry you have a 99.9% chance of winning, hahha...
You are not obliged to buy any tickets and can source your own food and drink needs throughout the weekend and bring it along to any of the events.
NOTE: You will only be able to use the tickets to buy any of the food and drink throughout the weekend.
ACCOMMADATION: As mentioned in earlier posts on Facebook , there are various low cost options for the weekend. I have listed a link on the FB H.O.W. event page of cheap shared apartment rentals and room rentals. I f you are looking to save totally on accommodation, you are welcome to bring a sleeping bag and roll mat and find a spot in our venue. We have some running water, but no hot water and we have a shower base that you can bucket scrub in. It’s nice and I usually put a pot of hot boiling water in there to make it nicer. It’s a little rough but better/secure than sleeping on the beach. Also , there should be sufficient free parking space in front of the shop where you might feel more comfortable sleeping in your car if you choose.
BIKE RENTALS/STORAGE: For those who are considering bike rentals while you are here. I have arranged a deal with a local bike buddy of mine to rent us out a few Nirve cruisers , PG bikes and other cruisers. I have arranged to rent them for 12 euro per day or 10euro per day for minimum of 2 days. We have a limited supply of rentals, so please confirm with me before the event so that I can arrange them. You must pre book the rentals by the 25th of October.
Awards/Momentos/Merchandise: We want everyone to enjoy and have a memorable experience , so we want to provide opportunities to take a momento of the event. Though, it won’t be so straight forward, and you will have to work for some of the momentos, hahha...
We are coming up with a special full-participation momento if you get participate in all the activities throughout the weekend. It will be something stylish and functional, Barcelona estilo. Or if you just want to win one, you can try your luck at winning something at one of the bike events. Note, they are not all skilled contests and everyone has a chance to win something.
OK, OK.... if you don’t earn one you could always buy one! Haha... We will have a couple of momentos to sell at our shop and throughout the event. Or just buy something to support “the starving custom bike builders of Barcelona Association” hahahha!!
