  • 16. QR CODES • "Quick Response Codes" • 2 different uses • In-Class • Out-of-Class
  • 17. QR CODES: IN-CLASS • Used to provide links to answers. • Encouraged cooperation and independent learning in learner groups
  • 18. QR CODES: OUT-OF-CLASS • Used to provide links to Online Modeling Videos. • Encouraged independent learning outside of class • Provide scaffolding outside of class
  • 19. FILLABLE .PDF HOMEWORKS • Homeworks posted to class website in advance as fillable .pdfs • Learners allowed either to print and turn in during class or to email completed .pdf to instructor • Instructor annotated .pdfs and emailed them back to learners
  • 20. FILLABLE .PDF HOMEWORKS • Benefits: • Creation of a digital archive of all students' work • Higher percentage of homework completion • Drawbacks: • Increased time to create homeworks • Increased time to grade homeworks
  • 21. VOCABULARY POWERPOINTS • PowerPoints created to go through vocabulary with learners in class • Small number of words (5-7 words) presented each class • Collaborative activities and translations focus on the vocabulary words for each class • PowerPoints posted online
  • 22. VOCABULARY POWERPOINTS • Benefits: • Allows for a connection to be made between the L2 word and the semantic concept, not with a L1 word • Using images that evoke strong emotions or are relevant to learners are best • Online access to PowerPoints allows for independent review

Nothing, I think you're doing an awesome job teaching this class, and I couldn't see it getting any better. I am doing well. I enjoy class and think you are doing a very good job teaching me Latin. Spending time reviewing the material at home is critical for success.
