These single-stage worm gears feature slide bearings, except for the thrust bearing on the worm shaft. Mineral gear oil with EP additives is used for lubrication.1.2 TW machine series The designations for this series (the next generation of the W series) are derived from ThyssenKrupp worm gear and a parameter for the main performance point of the machine (e.g. Q=1600 kg). As part of technical advancements, these machines are outfitted with anti-friction bearings only.     • ThyssenKrupp Elevator Component TW45B Machine Product CatalogEngineering - Machine versions3.5.3 Version with emergency brake–NBS The emergency brake system option allows you to meet the requirements for protective devices to protect elevator cars travelling upwards from overspeed according to EN81 section 9.10. In addition to the operational brake an extra brake assembly on the drive shaft is required to achieve compliance. The assembly consists of these components: • type tested electromagnetic disc brake • driving gear for NBS model (NBS bearing bracket, NBS brake flange to mount the brake) • traction sheave wheel shaft / worm wheel shaft NBS (including sealing components) The braking system is located on the machine side away from the traction sheave. The braking force is applied directly to the traction sheave shaft. For configurations which deviate from EN81-1 (section 9.10.4 d) by not locating the braking system immediately next to the traction sheave, various requirements are set for this version in the type approval reference of the brake, such as the design of the shaft, including proof of calculations. The certificate issued by TÜV-Süddeutschland providing proof of the traction sheave shaft for machine TW45B in fulfillment of the above requirements is to be included with the technical documentation. The trigger system for the emergency brake is accomplished with a separate control unit that includes a terminal box and connecting cables (refer to factory standard: 65 000 18 000 – emergency brake trigger systems for gear drives) and an extra safety switch on the overspeed governor (manufactured by Thyssen) that triggers the device if overspeed is reached. Manual ventilation of the emergency brake (e.g. for an emergency evacuation in the event of a power failure) is accomplished with 2 M8 screws, that when activated are screwed into the brake, thereby ventilating the brake and armature base plate of the disc brake. During normal operation these screws and a socket wrench are located in the brakes guard plate of the brake. Installation of the manual ventilation screws requires a minimum distance of 100 mm between the emergency brake and the adjacent machine room wall or other object. The model without pulley is used in installations with 1:1 rope attachment and direct rope departure at an elevator car - counterweight rope distance ASL * 620 mm and a * 520 mm traction sheave or for installations with 2:1 rope attachment.5.2.7.2 Machine base frames for machines in machine room with pulley The machine base frame with pulley consists of three longitudinal plated-edge brackets with two welded face plates. The hole pattern in the machine base frame must allow the machine to be moved on the machine base frame with a grid spacing of 40 / 50 mm. Supports for the rope pulley hub and the isolation elements are bolted onto the machine base frame. The pulley hub can be positioned on the left or right by arranging the supports accordingly. The version with rope pulley, depending on the left-hand or right-hand pulley hub position, is used for installations with 1:1 rope attachment and elevator car - counterweight rope distance ASL = 608 ÷ 833 mm. Rope pulleys in ∅ 360-7 x ∅ 8 or ∅ 450-7 x ∅ 10 / 11 mm versions are used. The rope pulleys have maintenance-free anti-friction bearings. Machine base frames are installed in the machine room using impact soundproof elements (rubber block 100 x 100 x 50mm).5.2.7.3 Shaft machine base frame (elevator without machine room) The machine base frame needed for machines in elevators without a machine room are headroom frames. Specially-designed suspension plates are bolted to the front contour of the gear box casing. Together with bolted crossbeams this internal frame unit is installed in the headroom frame using isolation elements. A cover plate between the suspension plates serves as an antifall guard for the traction sheave and provides a protective function for the rope feed points.5.2.8 Airborne noise level The airborne sound level in the machine room at a distance of 1m under operation at normal rating is ≤ 65 dB(A).5.2.9 Environmental conditions The performance data listed for the drive is achieved under the following use and environmental conditions: Operation data 180 c/h at 50% ED Ambient temperature ranging from + 5° C to 40° C at 50% humidity.
